Hello all, so we are looking for #recommendations for #accessible#email clients. we know thunderbird is a thing but it takes up a lot of our computer's resources at last check. Gmail's html view works for the moment but that's going away soon if I recall correctly, so recommendations would be helpful.
I still don't care for it; web-based fora are, to a one, less usable, less #accessible, and less searchable than mailing lists (with web-based archives) or newsgroups. And so, so much #slower to try to read or skim through a day or week's worth of messages.
More than 135 million people have played #JustDance - but how #accessible is it for everyone?
#Ubisoft 's #VideoGame has 500 unique choreographies that users from around the world follow.
" #GameDevelopment is a really long process but if you start to think about #accessibility right at the beginning, we can make things accessible by design.
"If you're a developer and you're interested in accessibility, you just need to #listen to #disabled people.
it would be great if the Conair scale in my hotel room was a bluetooth model so I could weigh myself independently. Alas, it is not, at least I don't think so. I'm not able to set it up through the Conair Scales app. I have stood on it and taken some pictures with Be My AI. I was able to decipher the instructions, and I was able to wake up the scale and get it set to zero, but for some reason it won't show my weight. When I take a picture of me standing on the scale, it says the digital display is blank. If I jump off the scale and take a picture, it says that it's set to zero. I'm going to need some cited help with this.
Speaking of scales, does anyone have any recommendations for an accessible digital scale besides Qardio? I have nothing against Qardio, but wondering if there are other #accessible options available. #fitness#voiceover#iOS#health
I'm looking for a good #accessible#CrossPlatform journalling app. Ideally something that would encourage me to write with prompts and reminders. I am a big fan of Day One Journal, but it is not available on windows. Any suggestions?
Nie działa mi #Semaphore i to zarówno pod Windows, jak pod MacOS. Szukałem jakiegoś dostępnego klienta na Maćka i nic. Może ktoś podpowie... #accessible#Mastodon
We're thrilled to be joined by @superblindman for a fascinating journey into the world of how #Gaming can be #Accessible for #Blind and #VisuallyImpaired gamers, including the challenges it can pose and the work that's still to be done.
My photo from Jan 2015 at Colusa Natl Wildlife Refuge. Great place to visit, especially later in the year when there's standing water. 1000's of waterfowl.
#Accessible viewing deck and bird-from-car auto-tour drive. Not so much a #hiking destination.
It’s interesting to see the hate boner so many people have for #AI.
The people who claim it’s useless don’t even understand its purpose or how to utilize it properly.
I’ve saved myself hundreds of hours at work using it to nest functions I know individually, but the AI is capable of combining and organizing exactly what I tell it to with proper syntax. I check the work as I write out the function personally directing cell and data references.
There’s real discussion to be had about responsible training and AI ethics. I agree people need protections.
But the tech itself is absolutely paradigm-shifting. Though in its infancy, the use cases for AI in #education, #healthcare, and #accessible#legal advice is astounding.
To laugh at this tech as if it’s useless just really speaks to the fact that they don’t understand AI, what it’s for, or how to use it.
Of course, like everything, there’s already enshittification. Look past it.
Never thought of the #inclusive and #accessible aspect of no-code / low-code tools until I watched this short documentary (mostly in French but with subtitles).
@MonaApp any plans on developing an app for Bluesky? Their app and website do have some accessibility features built-in like alt text reminder, but overall, it’s near difficult to impossible to navigate with any kind of efficiency with a screen reader be it on the phone or PC. I believe there’s one third-party client coming out later called Graysky, but who knows… You’ve done such a great #accessibility job with Twitter and mastodon, one holds out hope that you can work your magic on Bluesky… #Blind#Accessible
New at my Patreon... I've recently become more aware of accessibility while travelling. Then, after facing too many steps in Europe's Metros, I had a revelation:
Ladies and gentlemen, I present you with my accessibility review of Marvel's Spiderman 2. As always, code provided by Playstation and Insomniac Games. Please do take this one in. THere's a lot to say. https://www.brandoncole.net/?p=565
This is really a #teachable moment for anyone in #gameDev I think, see boost. #audiodescription is an #accessibility feature that is mostly used by the #blind, as it describes audibly what's happening visually. The inclusion of this feature, therefore, sends a message that this demographic was at least considered when creating the #game in question. Creating audiodescription costs valuable time and resources, which makes sense if the game is meant to be #accessible. If it's not, though, where does that leave us? Was the intention to allow the blind to watch another person play the game more effectively? Is it merely a consequence of other games adding it as well, taken out of context and into a vacuum? Perhaps simply a token effort? I guess we'll never know. But I think this review clearly demonstrates that when audiodescription is included, the target demographic expects to actually be able to PLAY, not just WATCH, a game. this is not a movie, after all.
You will miss reaching half or more of your potential online audience - when you don't make the time to be #inclusive & don't make efforts to have your posts be #accessible to #disabled communities.
Dear #Friendica ,
When writing new posts like this one and also when writing comments aka replies, how do I auto complete user display names when mentioning them? Is it keyboard accessible.
@feb Ah yes now I understand. Unfortunatelly that part is not yet #screenreaders#accessible thus when using up and down arrow keys to make the choice I don't know what I'm selecting. I'll first try to look into it my-self and if I won't be able to fix it on my own I'll file it as a feature request then.
Thanks for your patience explaining this feature to me.
I upgraded my Notion Accessibility Tracker to support the new WCAG 2.2 success criteria. If you bought it already, you get all that from the same template location.
I swear, #buggy, buggy #Apple#iOS releases! And it doesn’t seem that the #public#betas they’re offering now have made much difference. thing is, Apple is, by far, the most #accessible option I as a #blind person have right now in terms of cell phones, so, I’m kinda stuck with it. #a11y
