Stream from @notjustbikes at the Fully Charged Show with some commentary about some of the risks of commerical electric cargo bikes on bicycle infrastructure.
Removing speed limiters, maxing out dimensions, and electric motorbikes pretending to be bicycles.
My giant list of #biketools that you'd likely need to open a bike shop is more or less complete! I've got my preferred tool first, then one or two alternates for most things. The pivot tables didn't translate over to cryptpad (better spreadsheet sharing recommendations welcome, but don't tell me to use Google or Microsoft), but the list is at least visible. What am I missing? Do you disagree about the priority on anything? Feedback please!
Riding #bicycles is good for your health and the planet but not everyone is able to ride a #bike so it's okay for them to drive cars even though they cause #climatechange because they can't help it.
@bikes that depends on the location. I live quite rural and have forgotten to lock my bike multiple, nothing happened. But when I'm in the city, lock it EVERY. TIME.
For fun and camaraderie, some @pinoy#OpenStreetMap folks are taking their #bicycles around Marikina, to collect street-level imagery this coming weekend.
'Founder Isla Rowntree stepped back from the day to day running of Islabikes via an MBO in January 2021, handing majority ownership to current MD Tim Goodall. Since then, it has been a turbulent and difficult time for the cycle industry as a whole and neither Tim nor Isla wish to continue.'
My oldest will be commuting to community college next year so she'll be taking my car (a plug-in Prius). My wife has been concerned about us possibly getting a third car BUT I think I might have a better solution: an e-bike.
My current job has me a few miles from the house, and I'm currently exploring remote/hybrid possibilities. Anyone with e-bike experience, what should I be looking for in an e-bike? Anything bikes I should consider or stay away from? I'm in the US if that matters.

The problem that so much bike advocacy has is that it focuses on 'safety' instead of utility.
It's not that most roads are 'unsafe' for cycling, it's that most roads are 'unusable' for cycling.
Something like bikespot that allows you to mark places as 'safe' or 'unsafe' is fine for polishing the rough edges of a great cycling network, but it's pretty useless for a city that largely lacks a cycling network.
My ancient bike pump broke and drained my bike tires so I took my bike to the friendly neighborhood bike shop. I don’t know what I’d do without them within walking distance. #CarFree#Bicycles
British method of postal voting: wait until candidates announced, councils struggle to print up ballots, outsourced delivery companies save money by failing to deliver, voters worry about returning on time
Dutch: send out in advance the unique certificate that needs signing, later email the candidate lists and a self-printable ballot. Post yourself to the Hague, your embassy, or deliver in person
