Spontaneously made some #muffins for #breakfast. Not something I make very often. Maybe every year or two… These are unplanned oat, date, raisins, 12-grain cereal, and molasses things.
... and immediately thought "Yes! I hate it when hotel breakfast doesn't start until the insanely late hour of 8am. Clearly 6.30am is the correct start time."
Then I realised the article was complaining about how early breakfast finishes. :)
Lazy late #Sunday#DasInKobe#Breakfast#AptCooking decadence!
I can't get over these yolks in #Japan (I really want to know what they put in the feed!).
Partner goes for 2 eggs on toast, I finish up some leftover smoked tuna takaki (via Costco) that I chopped & doctored with #kewpie & chili oil (lao gan ma), topped w aonori & sesame seeds.
😮 soda, sweet averse partner has fanta, as I decide to go with sake (I heard whispers that it goes well with seafood; it does!) - ok this is #brunch !
The yoghurt gives it a nice creamy tangy counterbalance but it would also work without. (Also: this is very much not a German recipe. But it's a fun, easy yummy one.)
No #breakfast today because I’m accompanying @Katylou in for surgery and a practicing some sympathetic fasting. (I did get myself some hospital coffee though. Drank it in front of her too.)
Dropped into the Guilty Moose in Albert Park this morning, after meeting my friend Julia for a walk through the monthly farmers' market nearby. She ordered this amazing dish, titled Big Trouble in Little China. Love the colours!
Trying to be better at eating before 1 or 2pm. Apppppaaaaaarently, a latte is not breakfast.
Finding these veggie breakfast sausages has been really nice. They have that peppery spice that I love from regular sausage, but don't have that meat-fat which can be heavy on my tummy first thing in the morning. (Morningstar Farms for anyone interested).
And ofc my sourdough bagel, with the really good vegan cream cheese I can't find in Canada anymore.
I don't read a lot of physical books anymore. Ebooks and audiobooks are just more convenient for me. But sometimes I'll make an exception, and if anyone deserves one, it's Raymond Chandler. Dude could write... truly a master of wordcraft. The Big Sleep has so much in it to savor and enjoy, and I'm loving the "hardboiled detective" vibe. #AmReading#FridayReads#Bpoks#Bookstodon#Breakfast#Tacos@bookstodon
It's that point in the life of a batch of #stickyBuns where you slice them open and toast them in a pan for a whole new flavour/texture profile. Pretty tasty.
