Thinking about attempting to code an service as a learning project, and to perhaps solve the social lock-in issue of gaming platform profiles that really pisses me off. 🤔

I really really don't like , however I'm way too attached to my almost 20 year old profile and like to do video game achievements. Having a unified, federated profile that pulls its data from all the different sources (Steam, PSN, Xbox, RetroAchievements.org and especially GOG) would be neat.

What if any Fediverse instance's make this DRM that Facebook has, with posts being locked for users not signed in. This can help with those who are scared of AI “taking over” because let's be real, AI just grabs the information you post online. If we do this, would AI “die”?

I don't personally care so to speak, as AI will not care, or sorry, these companies developing the AI LLM's will counter new strategies to obtain PII from websites.

When we're as surrounded by streaming platforms as we are now, it's easy to forget that the DRM-free life still exists. Even now, there are dozens of record labels, publishers, and online retailers that refuse to abuse their customers. Learn about them in the Guide: https://u.fsf.org/1lr

Steam doesn’t require games to have DRM. In fact, some of the biggest titles sold on Steam don’t even have DRM.

Here’s a list of some of them:

I understand and even appreciate your efforts to offer your own sales platforms for ebooks outside the ubiquitous Amazon ecosystem.

But frankly, if that means having to use your own shitty, DRM-locked apps for reading your books, you don't encourage me to become your customer.
