Before heading home after fly fishing, I stopped by this little creek. Although many anglers would say fishing is great even without catching any fish, which is true, I am pretty sure catching a fish makes the day even greater 😉
To cheer up my sad feeling, I checked another creek. I didn’t fish here, but this is a beautiful creek 😊
I love the mix of the old tech rowing boat, steered with feet, while staring at phone in the first pic. Second pic was someone who would fish everyday at least once for food in the #river #travel#photography#fishing#vietnam
The water looks nice. I didn’t fish, just taking a little walk while kids are warming up for a soccer game 😉 Today is probably a very good day for fishing, but I simply don’t have the time to fish as my son has soccer games in two separate places, driving a lot 😊
“Deloitte has projected that if we do nothing about climate change, the cost [to] global GDP would be $178 trillion negative, that if we hit net-zero by 2050, that will create $43 trillion in added GDP globally for a $220 trillion swing between getting this right and getting this wrong,” Whitehouse said.
Residents of Munje, a fishing village south of the Kenyan port of Mombasa, have established an octopus closure to ensure sustainable fishing.
Octopus catches in the reefs just offshore had been declining as larger numbers of fishers, often using damaging techniques, hunted this profitable species.
15 minutes after starting ice fishing with friends today, my phone fell off my lap and directly into one of the holes we had augured out. The kids had a great time but I spent most of it kicking myself for not putting the phone back in my pocket. #fishing#icefishing#stupidity#phone#lost
"about 75% of the world’s industrial fishing vessels are not publicly tracked, with much of that fishing taking place around Africa and South Asia. More than 25% of transport and energy vessel activity are also missing from public tracking systems"
Even though we needed zero extra reasons to completely ban bottom trawling what with the whole "marine deforestation that causes irreparable harm” thing, this is fairly shocking.
