For the curious it's apparently a Burroughs L7000 accounting machine from the early 1970s (?), with less maths capability than a 20 year old spreadsheet :)
George Barnsley, an abandoned toolworks in Sheffield. Abandoned in 2004. The company was founded in 1836, and continues to trade from local premises. Unsure when the building was first occupied. These photos were from 2015.
Oakland artist Monte Cazazza has his debut 7” single “To Mom On Mother's Day” released
Cazazza was an artist who spent the early '70s experimenting with shocking performance art acts, mostly in San Francisco. He was eventually “discovered” by experimental art groupnThrobbing Gristle and went on to work with the band Psychic TV.
This is the first non-TG artist released on Industrial Records. It’s backed musically by Throbbing Gristle too.
A #solarpower spinout from Oxford University has concluded that due to a lack of incentives, the UK is the 'least attractive' of the countries it is considering for a plant to manufacture its highly efficient perovskite-silicon cells for #solar panels. The plant is likely to be located in either the US or Germany.
Its an old story of UK advances in #technology being capitalised on elsewhere, now compounded by a #Tory Govt. with no #industrial strategy & a weak commitment to #greenenergy!
