one thing i don’t like about the Linux UI are the fonts. The default fonts don’t look as nice as MacOS. Linux fonts have an “unfinished” look about them - like someone said “publish them for now. we’ll fix the fonts on the next release”
I guess I'll start studying some environmental art in Unity to expand my skills. Going to get a free (paid for) course for it, so it'll be fun but tough. (:
(I'll do this on the side whenever I have time, unless it ends up paying the bills)
Just discovered Webflow is sharing works made by black folks and advices for them on their blog.
I might be ignorant but It's not something I see a lot in the occidental tech industries mainly composed and managed by white folks who dont actively do something to compensate that systemic imbalance.
All Emoji-pickers are cursed, but there's a special place in hell for those that make you scroll through a bunch of premium emojis to get to the "free" ones
Someone really rich, related to someone really powerful, just died, possibly because Tesla tried to save a buck on their $80K SUV and not install a normal shift stalk, and I hope they sue the shit out of #Tesla.
I had no idea they got rid of the shift stalk in the Model X, replacing it with this nonsense. I’d never buy a car with such bad #UI.
I just want to write some code, maybe make some music, maybe draw some pictures.
I don't want to be mad about blockchains, I don't want to be mad about GenAI, I don't want to be mad about terrible backfiring "think of the children" legislation, I don't want to be terrified about the rising tide of bigoted, racist fascism ending democracy in my lifetime.
I don't want you to have to be mad about all that either.
I wish the world would leave us all alone for a little bit.
I recently solved the problem of crappy #UI (unreadable labels) on a new washer and dryer by making #Braille labels for the otherwise-unreadable selector buttons.
hello 🌱
lurkers + fediverse!
Long shot but i'm looking for an accomodation in #Brussels starting in April.

Does anyone know if there's a way to make a list on mastodon that follows hashtags? I want to keep up with all these writing tags but not on my main feed. Suggestions welcome.
@sfwrtr I don't follow all that techspeak, but this was my sense, too. Your main feed is just a list. When we make "lists," we're creating a side feed of selected accounts off the main feed, so the only problem is that I don't have a way to put hashtags into lists, not that it's not possible. "Unimplemented feature" is the perfect term for it!
Most designs I see for home automation apps are pretty but absolutely not convenient to use. It should be super quick to do an action, otherwise it’s better to just do it physically.
Our latest work on #Drupal administration #UI improvements has focused on making it easy for administrators to manage the new toolbar through the back end.
We cover navigation blocks and local tasks in the latest update!
As someone with a background in languages and, more simply, as someone with some common sense, this has been a pet hate of mine since I first saw it in the late 90s.
