Apple wants to rid the iPhone-buying process of the post-unboxing update.

On the question of “What’s the plan to make money?”, CEO Jay Graeber says:

“We’ve been building marketplaces within the app, essentially. So, we’ve got information marketplaces, moderation marketplaces..”

How can that produce enough revenue to make the VCs happy? Just what kind of information marketplaces might she be thinking of that can produce those results?

@MaggyWells I was surprised MSNBC uploaded it to YT

they also uploaded Lawrence O’Donnell’s remarks

I saw a recording of Nicolle Wallace commenting, and interviewing an author (I missed his name & clip has been taken down) whose recent book is on “appeasement” of fascists and how that’s what NBC seems to be trying to do

Joy Reid criticized the decision too. I don’t know if any of the other anchors commented

4y ago, when was spreading across the world, I got sick. 4d of severe illness

Then I “recovered” except for low fever, fatigue, body aches…

I worked—& crashed, barely able to get out of bed, rested days/weeks, felt better, went back to work—crashed. That’s the cycle

I set activity limits, cut them back & back…

Today if I walk >400 steps, stand >2 min, sit up >2h, or have >10 min heart rate >85bpm … I crash

Hard lessons. Took a long time to accept I’m w

Re anything does, I do not assume good faith or benign self-interest. Based on their history, horrific even for an edgelord megacorporation (see Myanmar, Cambridge Analytica…), it’s quite reasonable to expect exploitation, manipulation, deception, et merde in anything they do.

Simply in terms of moderation, the “instance” would be defederated by most fedi admins for hate speech & harassment, were it not the 800-pound gorilla it is.

So I blocked the entire threads.net domain.

Help, I've fallen down a conspiracy theory hole and the comments are fucking FASCINATING.

The discussion:
if the US and Russia share a border, why does it take 19 hours to fly from Alaska to Moscow?? What are they hiding???

Some of the comments:

  • One day I looked at the back of the globe and my mind didn’t feel right

  • It's strange how the flight is still 9+ hours no matter which airline you take

  • Sooo where does that put australia & New Zealand, Papuan New Guinea?? Ive have suspected all is closer then we are told!

  • cause every time you change time zones you go into a new dimension and you have to adjust to it . just a theory

  • anybody else think it's strange that airports use...flight manifests??? them naming it a manifest infers they're manifesting or 'creating' falsehoods...

  • You just clicked something in my brain😫 How are we SO programed?????

  • the US and Russia DO share a small maritime border, that's about 55 minutes "drive" to cross
** it's a maritime border, so you can't really "drive" across it

Resolving the crisis in 🇺🇸 is more complicated than “ban homeless tents in public” or “let homeless tents remain in public” as both only address the symptoms.

👉🏾 The Supreme Court could soon outlaw homeless camps https://nypost.com/2024/03/09/opinion/the-supreme-court-could-soon-outlaw-homeless-camps/

When I visited 🇸🇬 last year, I saw very few homeless people. When I inquired about it, I was told that the government paid for temporary housing for homeless citizens.

Non-citizens however were immediately deported! 😦

Today is my birthday!

If you'd like to do something for me for my birthday, would you please reply to this with—or by other means send me— something with colors you liked? Like an image or a video or a link. Music would also be acceptable if it gives you a strong synesthesiac association with color.

If this request confuses you, here are some examples of images with colors I found striking [Artists: Laurie Barmore, Vian Borchert, Erica Aurahack]. But your reply can be whatever colors you like.
