if you work in education you must ignore this forthcoming guidance, if not morally than let me explain why you should ignore it legally:

this is NON-STATUTORY GUIDANCE. it is trumped by statutory guidance (e.g. KCSiE, which still specifically mentions discrimination based on gender reassignment in the 2023 update) which is in turn trumped by law (equality act 2010, children's act 1989)

I'm posting a modified version of a locked post without details, just in case people want to boost the message.

Talking about gender in positive ways (like #TransJoy or just the ways it's become part of your life and community) in open spaces — even just shouting into the online void — encourages people to reflect and take initiative towards their own happiness, and some will even tell you that and perhaps pinpoint a moment when you helped change their life (as multiple friends have for me).

This is exactly why interest groups want to ban any public mention of transness: putting it out there leads people to self-examine and give them the courage to take action. I will never shut up about how awesome it is to see trans/enby people become happier with themselves.

As unsavoury as it is, the more people are talking about the #BBCpresenter story (including the BBC themselves) the less we're talking about Boris Johnson's contempt of parliament, the George Osbourne email story, that inflation is at 8.7%, the UK water company debacle, the Michelle Mone PPE scandal, the fact that an MP was arrested four times and accused of rape, but still has the Tory whip and is standing for election... It's all deflection and distraction, and Rupert Murdoch is right there.

Pro Tip: When selecting a social media platform, always research its cat content. Look for pictures and videos of cats sleeping on people, sitting on stuff you need, and being floofy derps.

Likewise, look for content that captures how cats don't give a flying you know what. This can be as simple as a cat looking at the camera with a "WTF, eat me human" expression.

While you are encouraged to "shop around," know that Mastodon has top quality cat content.

I took a little vacation and came back and the fact that Libs of Tiktok is already ensconced on Threads and we have tech dudes on here explaining that Threads is beside the point/unlikely to be vector for harassment is still making my head explode.

(I'd hoped to find an accessible but technical account how this anti-trans manipulation and harassment plays out across networks, but it seems like there's a gap between v high level summary and hyper-detailed academic analysis of similar networks.)

Hi! I'm a #nonbinary video editor that dabbles in other art and design (mostly pixel art, though I'm not very practiced)

I also enjoy video games. Picked up fighting games in the last few years, mostly Guilty Gear Strive and recently some SF6. I also "play" Final Fantasy XIV (mostly just make glams lol)

Anyway, here's my fightstick, designed it when I played Testament, now I main Bridget and I kinda wanna change it

Mayflash F500 fightstick, custom design behind the faceplate that I made (official character art of Testament from Guilty Gear Strive on the left side, background is black on the left and and white on the right, circles behind the buttons inverting the black/white of the background, and black text on the right side that says "Welcome to The Gender Zone"). The balltop on the stick is a clear purple with bubbles on the inside, and the 8 buttons on the right (arranged in two rows of four) have a clear base. The top four buttons and the leftmost button on the bottom row are purple, while the remaining 3 are yellow. The whole color scheme of the fightstick is intended to be nonbinary flag colors.
