I loved that it talked about the (one-time) success of Rising, which is just filled with innuendo and falsehoods. It's basically disinformation. And it only worked going into that election.

He wanted to recreate that

@GottaLaff I think it's important to recognize that we do all want China to do well, in the right way of course.

China's having problems now, and when you consider the possibility that definitely existed not that long ago, of a China mired in poverty and disorder, you can see why it's better for us and the world that China remain at least stable.

Also note Bartiromo going for the hyper-nationalism, which is even worse.

They've got enough sweeteners to get Orban going soon, ESPECIALLY with the pressure from those to expel, as you mention. This role is very important.

Any Euro country can go down this path, unfortunately. Agree that hopefully the Hungarians will get sick of him, and will have the clean voting system to vote him out

I got hit with a wave of this:

They seem to come out in election years, almost like a stealth campaign to elect Republicans.

I assume that there are people in that wave who are genuinely confused, but ignorance can also be dangerous.

It worked in 2000. Blaming the Dems helped elect George W.

    4 years ago today, Dr. Li Wenliang warned of a suspected SARS patient in a Wuhan WeChat group. It went viral, becoming the earliest warning of what we now know as .
    Days later, he was arrested for “making false comments on the Internet about unconfirmed SARS outbreak.”
    He returned to work, contracted COVID from a patient, and died on February 7, 2020.
    People were punished & died trying to keep others safe. Four years later, we still can't get people to care, mask, or protect each other.

    I am still absorbing the enormity of the Colorado Supreme Court's ruling that Trump is ineligible to appear on the ballot.

    It was a long day, so forgive typing errors.

    It seems to me that there was plenty of due process, Colorado law empowered its elections officer to determine qualification, and the elections officer did so.

    I don't believe there has to a finding in criminal court that Trump engaged in insurrection for Section 3 to apply. . .

    @Teri_Kanefield What I love the most about this is that the insurrection is at this point undeniable. If they overturn, it won't be because they claim it's unclear whether he tried to stay in power or not.

    We've collectively moved the ball quite a bit in this direction. I guess it wasn't but 6 months ago that some were still arguing that it wasn't an insurrection at all, but that argument has now gone by the boards.

    I think what's needed is a 3rd-party app for Mastodon that does have ads, people will use it.

    If done right some of that money can pay for Mastodon's costs.
