The random people who post nonsequitur comments about China to anything I post about Singapore will be blocked. Don’t pretend you know anything about Asia if you can’t read about another country without thinking ‘China is relevant’. Ugh

White people don't generally bother learning about Black people's lived reality but feel comfortable dictating the terms of their identities and experiences anyway. Men don't learn about women. Cis people don't learn about trans people. Americans don't learn how our "foreign policy" affects others.

The extraordinary level of proof people demand for this genocide is actually just garden-variety genocide denial.

That’s what it looks like - not the grand denunciation you might be waiting for.

Hope this helps.

I finally finished Tomb Raider (2013). What an incredible game. Despite being over a decade old, the game still looks amazing. The environment design, the lighting, the weather effects make for an awe-inspiring, dramatic experience.

The characters in the game have a very believable, grounded, and sympathetic portrayal, and Lara Croft goes through some incredible character development throughout the game. I do find it actually very cool that by the middle of the game, the militia on the island start to get terrified of you.

This has to be one of my favourite games, it just is a very satisfying and engaging story, with just the right amount of everything. The second and third games tried to be more expansive, but they don’t feel the same as this game IMHO.

More games just need to be like this: immersive, crafted, and executed well in scope.

This is what happened in Palestine while we were sleeping last night. Palestinians were supposed to be in a "safe zone" when they were attacked and bombed. How can you justify voting for a 2 party system that believes genocide is the answer? I don't want your shitty, pathetic, pro-genocide answers. No! I just want you to reflect on the images in this video, because there are worse ones I could've shared. But I've chosen to spare you, unlike Isreal not sparing Palestinians...

I am once again mentioning that for 55 of my 55 years of life, I have largely not given a shit about sports.

But cis people being bigoted fucks about trans women in sports has forced an activity that I have always found to be loathsome and boring into my awareness.

And they've left me with the conclusion that far too many cis people are as loathsome and boring as their bigoted, obsessive opinions about sports.

timberwraith,
@timberwraith@mastodon.social avatar

So again, if it were up to me, sports would be driven into the culture's dusty corners as a hobbyist's pursuit that has no place in schools and it would not be an industry in which billions of dollars are wasted as a means of lining a few pockets with community funds siphoned off from taxes and ticket sales.

Play at your local park and leave the rest of us the fuck alone.

This video is something else. It does a fairly cogent and humorous analysis of the current state of the "man-o-sphere," its grifters, and its destructive influence over boys/men. It also delves into the impact of patriarchy and toxic masculinity on men's lives and how it cheapens and empties out their lives of emotion and meaning.

It's long, entertaining, and kind of depressing.

Personally, the way that cis women hold on to the parts of patriarchy that specifically elevate and maintain their power as cis people, as cis women specifically, has been a cold, icy bucket of political water tossed into my naive feminist face.

It has been a sad, depressing learning experience.

FREE 3D Printer! Any that wants this customised and upgraded Ender 2 just needs to come and collect it from J4/J5 M40 ASAP, ideally this weekend.

I gave about 20 of these away, back when I had a big following on the other site, before it became a festering shitpile and this is the last one I have left. It was the testbed for customisation, so it's fully loaded!

I have never had a Bluetooth anything. I have avoided signing into things "using your Google account" since they started trying to make us do that. I don't have Spotify or iTunes or Tidal or Apple Music or whatever. I buy MP3 tracks or CDs and play them on those devices.
I skip any sign-in that is optional, even if they try to hide it and imply you must sign in. I have never signed into FB on my phone. I never use an app when there's an option to use mobile web (and there's almost always is).
