The Trees Not Cars campaign is making a renewed push for some much needed green space in central Manchester. They've been pushing for the former Central Retail Park in Ancoats (on Great Ancoats Street, right next to a Primary School) to be made into a park. The council thinks we need new offices and don't care about the extra pollution or the quality of life for those living nearby.

Most of the gigs we go to are 12 people watching a folk singer in a pub backroom - so it was a little different 🤣 They're probably the only band that I could be bothered to go to an arena to see.
It was a huge amount of fun and great musical performances too. The support act (Dave Hill) was really funny too.
@penguin42 I don't think I've been on a bus in Greater Manchester without one. There are a few hybrids, which seem to manage about 10 metres before the ICE kicks in.

The bees are done, and instead of fish I made balls to go with them. I tried making a fish, but it looked a bit sus, so I went with balls instead.

10 catnip-stuffed bees done! I would have made more than 10, but I have run out of the black yarn.
However, I have found a nice fish pattern, so I am going to make some of those to fill the void.
These are being made for a colleague to sell to raise money for a cat charity, I forgot to make a note of the charity but I will find it out so I can make a donation on payday myself!
I really wish we had orbital transport routes in Greater Manchester, it's easy to get from one of the towns into the city centre but not from one town to the next. Sometimes it's quicker to go into the city centre and out again than go around. Worst case is going two towns across, when both orbital and radial routes are slow.
@nowster@pwaring oh yes, I remember using those buses to get from Bury to Bolton quickly back in the day. There was also a Bury to Trafford Centre bus.
Since the 1980s, fundraising events have been held over the August bank holiday weekend in Manchester, England, in a bid to raise money for LGBTQ+ causes.
Manchester Pride kicked off on Friday 25th August 2023, the annual Pride parade was held on Saturday 26th and celebrations concluded on Monday 28th.
Visit to #CastlefieldViaduct#NationalTrust site in #Manchester. A section of disused line given over to wildness and a bit of planting. A great local resource, and really hope funding is found to continue beyond September, and to extend the garden.
