A listener-supported radio station in #NorthCarolina will withhold the broadcast of six operas this season from the NY Metropolitan Opera, because the station management objects to their content.
The Met is showcasing its commitment to recently written works by people who aren't white men. Three of the operas are by Black or Mexican composers.

@ProPublica Where to begin? X needs Y. How do we get to that conclusion? X is in distress and usually would choose to consult Z who would independently assess the situation, make further inquiry and suggest potentially useful options. This often works and is always worth a try. In this situation it seems to have been bypassed. X has decided that the distress whatever form it takes will be most effectively relieved by Y in the absence of anything more than a personal fiat. Fat chance.
