Das gestrige #Wahlergebnis für Deutschland bei der #Europawahl ist erschreckend - ein massiver Gewinn für die Faschisten. Es wird dazu noch viele Analysen geben, aber hier ist eine Frage, die ich mir stelle:
Was ist unsere Social Media-Strategie um den #Faschismus effektiv zu bekämpfen?
Denn die Faschisten sind inzwischen sehr gut mit Social Media geworden, und holen die Jungwähler damit massenhaft ab, was uns allen große Sorgen machen sollte.
Und auch wenn es gut ist, daß hier auf #Mastodon und dem #Fediverse Faschisten systematisch ausgegrenzt werden (und ich begegne ihnen tatsächlich viel weniger als anderswo) - die "Daily Active Users" stagnieren hier schon seit längerem auf sehr niedrigen Niveau, und der Altersdurchschnitt der Benutzer ist auch ziemlich hoch. Nicht gerade toll, um die große Breite der Bevölkerung abzuholen - geschweige denn die Jungwähler.
Also sehe ich zwei Ansätze:
Das Fediverse viel größer und populärer zu machen. Wie machen wir das? Keine Ahnung.
Doch wieder auf die anderen Social Media-Plattformen - #Facebook, #TikTok, und sogar #Twitter / #X - gehen und dort stärker gegen den Faschisten eintreten. Aber die Algorithmen dieser Plattformen begünstigt die Hetze der Faschisten, und manche der Besitzer dieser Plattformen (insbesondere Elon Musk) sind selber Faschisten.
Ich bin hier zugegeben etwas ratlos. Was meint ihr?

Many of us on #kbin have been unable to log on or view content for about a week now. Have you identified the problem and made a plan to restore the site?
I also want to thank you for all your hard work. Personally, Kbin is my preferred #fediverse platform. I can’t imagine how much work goes into keeping it running.

It's smart to follow alot here on #mastodon because unlike #centralized#socialmedia where they feed you all sorts of shit based on their (manipulated) #algorithm, you aren't getting one damn toot until you fill your follow count. You have to follow a lot to get a rich experience.
That needs to be hammered for new #fediverse accounts: follow, follow, follow. Then follow some more.
Between that and the esoteric mystery of picking a server, a lot of people just don't get it.
I've found an excellent podcast series about how online companies use your data. The second episode of the new season is all about how social media giants gather data to keep you engaged, enraged and staying in their apps looking at ads.
It's presented in a pleasantly approachable way. The fediverse is mentioned (Flipboard), along with a new platform I haven't heard of, Small Town and the idea of the Pluriverse.
So, I am trying to get the ActivityPub module working on a core Drupal site. I have installed it and I see no real issues. But once I get it setup and enabled on an Account I am supposed to be able to search that account. So far I haven't been....
I wrote about how Patreon needs to join the #Fediverse:

Auch deswegen nutze ich YouTube nicht direkt, sondern Links über @invidious* oder nutze es mobil via @newpipe*, um Videos zu sehen und so weit frei vom Tracking zu sein. Leider sind noch nicht sehr viele anregende Videoproduktionen im Fediverse zB auf @peertube vertreten.
