I found this classic, old-school, art materials shop on the Left Bank, in Paris, as I was wandering around the Latin Quarter one day - not far from Shakespeare and Co. It had pastels and pencils by the yard. I do hope it's still there.
This is in portrait format - enlarge to see the whole image.
On advice from a freelance coach I've updated the names of the workshops I sell in my #shop. I'm not entirely thrilled by it for various reasons (I prefer just "this is what it is" rather than lengthy titles, but apparently it's necessary now?)
"seeing #everyone just mindlessly sign up for #threads despite all the clear #warning signs feels like I’m living in Sailor Moon or a magical girl #anime episode where the #Monster of the Day just set up #shop over night and their #product is literally draining your lifeforce for the Dark #Kingdom but #people keep going there"
Y’know, I’ve never really got cast iron, why people get into it, but maybe I’ve just never seen it really completely restored. I’ve seen it painted and kinda rusty and not rusty but not really maintained I guess? Or maybe that’s just the mean state, I dunno.
But fully and freshly restored it’s sculptural as fuck and I’m kinda starting to maybe get it.
Edinburgh's new shopping centre, Saint James. The design was highly controversial when first announced.
The finished product is laughingly nicknamed the t*rd... not sure why 😄
