Did an "experiment" of sorts over the weekend: Visited a place online (Google Maps, etc.) where I spent some time twenty, thirty years back and have fond memories of.
Seattle, in this case.
I was still able to find my ways - sort of. But most of the places I used to hang out at, streets, shops ... they have either relocated or don't exist anymore. All I have now are fond memories (+ stuff I bought back then).
My advice: Document in time! Photos, diary, scraps.
Anyone who has been following my #ao3 account may be wondering why I have not updated stories in awhile.
In short, I'm in a #writers block moment where I just can't pull together enough stamina and emotional energy to type a sentence let alone continue very emotionally charged stories.
Think the WGA strike isn't relevant to you? It's relevant to anyone doing creative or knowledge work because if it happens to writers, it could happen elsewhere. They asked this consortium under AMPTP including Amazon and Netflix that AI be prevented from training on covered material, and rewriting their work. The request was not only denied but they were offered a token yearly meeting to "discuss advances in technology".
Even some technologists I know don't fully understand how much training is required for AI, and that its generative capacity sits on literally millions of thoughts and ideas generated and ingested into systems. When you watch a movie or TV show that really grabs you, often people will place all the credit on the #acting. And though good acting is a very important part of the equation, good #writing is just as much a part of it, if not more so. Unfortunately, the #Hollywood system doesn't seem to value writing as much as they value acting talent and "the right look" and it shows. I stand with the #WGA and I hope they get a fair shake.
As an aside, "reality TV" was a direct result of a #writers#strike. Studios found a formula that didn't require writers and unfortunately it worked. If the current strike is prolonged, I would encourage people to NOT watch any sort of reality or contest-style content that may pop up. The world needs more good stories and less trash.

It's said that Igbod the Insane, the original one, became lonely in his might and invincibility, so he split himself in half. Being nearly immortal, this wasn't deadly for him, and being the insane genius that he was, he managed to make both halves grow into an Igbod.
Now, he knew, as we all do, that there is no way to perfectly copy a living being. Quantum uncertainty, or interference, or some other claptrap like that, so there were minuscule differences. Like the fact that one of them went instantly Insane, and repeated the process.
So this is why there are, by last count, over a hundred Igbods running around the galaxy, doing batshit insane things. At least it appears that none of them are splitting themselves up these days.
A small mercy, if there is any in situations like this, is that each splitting also halved the absurd power levels the original Igbod had, so most of the Igbods out there are maybe only one eighth-thousandth invincible. And unless the one who didn't split comes knocking, you don't even have to worry about half-invincible ones.
Of course, the researchers who have actually managed to study the Igbods, could be wrong, and the power levels of the Igbods are totally fucked up.

Rear tire on my old phone is going to be heavy and the right side effects of taking a good time with the house. But try it now and then you are going to have a great deal of information on my old job. Sex and you are truly dead. Frightened of a bit of love for your response is not in my mind . Everything is going to be heavy apparently.
Although I started my blog to document my novel writing, my witching poetry has developed a life of is own. Together with a friend, this became a music project.

Last week I had an out of town houseguest and a big party so I got nothing done. My manuscript is at around 34k words and I’m shooting for 40k by the end of this week.
I've always been skeptical of distraction-free writing tools.
If I could write only with those tools, I'd be better off addressing the deeper focus and attention issues the distracted writing was a symptom of. And, by the way, "distraction" can be a powerful discovery tool.
