One year ago, I decided to leave Twitter and start my own Mastodon instance for myself and a few friends.
I quickly started supporting the project on Patreon and joined the Discord, to see if I could help some people with scaling up their instances, as I was familiar with the stack and I know the drill.
A few weeks later, I was reworking the whole hosting for the project, then mastodon.online, and ultimately mastodon.social…
Yesterday was my year anniversary with Mastodon, and it's been so cool. I've met so many awesome people in just a year, it's mindblowing, really. Here's to many more!
Today marks a year since I joined the #Fediverse via mas.to on November 8 last year (during a blood moon!) after a friend told me about it. :Fediverse:
I loved it so much I went on to create my own server https://mastodon.moule.world with my own emojis! :MOULE_Happy:
#Mastodon and #Fedi continue to be such amazing experiences and I'm so happy I can continue sharing my music and art here. I miss the amazing artists from Twitter though, but definitely not the platform.
Today’s the day: Happy first #fediversary to me! 🥳
It was a real effort to build up this cozy new corner over here and I had to leave so many incredible people behind on good old Twitter, but it was so obvious already then that I could not be part of Musk’s vision. And oh my am I glad I left!
In this year I got to know a whole lot of new people and feel settled here: I love what you all put on my feed every day and I find the idea of #ActivityPub super exciting. Good times ahead!
Realized today is my first #Fediversary! Was not much of a #Twitter user but was drawn to the idea of #ActivityPub and the wider #Fediverse: a radical, decentralized vision of the internet being built from the ground up and for the long-term.
Yesterday was my #MastodonAnniversary. 🥳 Overall, this has been a very interesting year for social media and I like the discourse and insights here in the Fediverse. There are some topics and activities that I miss from the other site but I haven't and won't be posting there anymore.
I have been tied up with work today, and have a few chores to go and do now, but I couldn't let the first year of our things.uk Mastodon instance go by without making a little something for it.
It's our tootiversary!
Lovely to be here, and thank you for making me so welcome 😊
One year ago today I overcame server choice paralysis, and signed up to Mastodon with both this craft account and my gamedev alter ego @teahands.
(Well, technically they've both migrated at least once so these aren't the original accounts, but that's just all part of the fun of the #Fediverse 😉 )
The fact that I now have multiple accounts on all kinds of Fedi services, follow cool people from #PixelFed and #BookWyrm, moderate the #Knitting community on #Lemmy, and have a #PeerTube channel probably tells you all you need to know about how I found it here.
Happy #Fediversary to all the other Nov 6th babies!
#FediverseAnniversary#fediversary. Today marks one year at Mastodon. For me it has been peaceful and informative, I only wish more academics, journaliats and sports fans would migrate here. Its very good for art, photography but some things I do miss. The engagement is less albeit generally higher quality. It is what it is....may it continue to blossom. 💐 thanks to the volunteers who keep this thing together. @stux
Today is my first #Fediversary (is that a word? I mean my #anniversary of joining the #Fediverse)
I've truly found a new social media home and love the fact that we're here exchanging thoughts, news and ideas beyond corporate control.
Despite missing certain communities, I've found new ones to engage with - so thanks to everyone on here!

Been a massive year for me this #Fediversary since #twitterMigration . My world is totally upended. Mostly in positive eventually ways I hope. #Fedi has helped in a lot of different ways.
Hello, time I made my #introduction.
I post about creative stuff, my day & #dogs & #ADHD (the pros & cons) it's #NeuroDiverse not neurodiminished. Surprising how many creatives & techs now have diagnosis.
I believe in hope, in optimism, in learning from our mistakes, adapting, innovating, improving. I like to post about interesting advances, about beneficial things we can, or could do, at individual or large scale.

Thinking a lot about my year on the #Fedi & how it's entwined with a whole set of complex & ultimately positive changes in my life.
Particularly in the UK since 2016, it's been easy to focus too much on things that are very complex to change, but not enough on things I can directly affect, which is frustrating & disempowering.
Fedi is a much healthier place, filled with good people, & in many ways I'm heading to a much healthier place than compared to a year ago.
