“ Rishi Sunak ‘seeks EU deal’ to end Brexit border chaos for holidaying Brits”

Perhaps you should have thought about this before leaving the EU ?

They’re not that smart, this tory lot.

Good Morning to everyone*

*unless you live in Uxbridge and South Ruislip - you had a chance to get rid of the but still voted for them

How bad do things have to get before you dump a party that gave us the human haystack?

So when your New Tory MP fails to deliver for you by not stopping , when the Mayor is re-elected. You deserve everything you get. So remember no moaning!

Honestly, ?

Ok. Have now recovered. The lesson in this is: with very low turnout, very close results, and all three progressive parties standing against each other, can still win seats. (If those 893 had gone to , Tories would have lost).

I am a Green Party member and REALLY dislike Starmer’s Labour but given where we are at, and 13 years of Tory ruin, surely is key

Something that the WM vote against the SNP amendment on the Israel / Gaza crisis has shown me: where the Tories are already doing their best to destroy lives - and by that I mean of their own country people and those in most need - given an election where Labour wins, they will follow exactly the same policy.

The Red of Labour is merely a different shade of the Blue of Conservatives.

Here is a list of 55 spineless Tory MPs who won't stand at the next GE.

Is your MP amongst them?

The absolute fucking STATE of the media in this country.
Sunak's speech (rest of the world): "What the fuck do you think you're doing?"
Guardian: "Al Gore leads international chorus of disapproval for Sunak’s climate U-turn"
Meanwhile:
Fail: "I'll spare families ruinous costs of net zero, vows Rishi"
Express: Honest Rishi - nation won't and can't pay net zero bill
Telegraph: "Sunak spares public net zero pain"

For those of you who can't see the clip from Sky News today, here's Sunak laughing in the face of a voter then turning his back and walking away while she's speaking.
Sunak: "Last year we had two months without strikes [in the NHS] and waiting lists went down (they didn't)
Voter: "You could fix it though, so it worked like it did before. My daughter had to wait seven hours ... "
Sunak guffaws in her face and walks away.

I see a post like this and I despair. I’m a Green Party member but “nothing to lose”?? Really?? If you don’t see a difference between a competent professional centrist Labour government & a corrupt, incompetent far right Tory government then frankly you’re also the problem.

Almost no-one in MSM seems to put certain things in context together.

Public spending is planned to be cut by 16.7% over 5yrs by Hunt the C-word, & I don't mean Chancellor.
+
Sunak as a previous C-word, (this time I also mean Chancellor), almost uniquely amongst countries allowed tax dodger companies based in tax havens to claim Covid loans, £253 BILLION worth that public accounts said we will never likely see again.

Nice gesture Michael but…….

The tories admit they were wrong ?

They’d sooner send their kids to a state school.

Huh. Just paid my tax - I wouldn’t mind so much if I felt it was going to say, the NHS ✊. Instead I suspect- based on previous evidence - it’s just going to end up in the greasy hands of Tory donors, Tory mates, someone a Tory MP once met in a pub.

31st July 2023 Day after day of storm, wind, rain here, never ending and elsewhere; new research showing may be much closer to collapse than previously thought. Not a peep from political leaders about any of this. On the contrary: funded Rishi , having praised cars yesterday, today gives go-ahead for 100s of new oil and gas projects. it’s a matter of survival 1/3

The has shown the Tories how well Climate Culiture War tactics can work: spreading about , branding “the political wing of Just Stop Oil”.

I expect the Tories will go for this full-on in the next elections, & the earlier we recognise & mobilise against this the better. Even if they lose these narratives are incredibly harmful

🚨"Bank of England hint the interest rate pain felt by many will be a long drawn-out affair!"🚨

The Bank of England thinks the economy isn't likely to face a recession, but there are heavy hints it fears the inflation cat is now out of the bag!

Economists thought inflation would fall to 4% by 2024 & 3.7% by 2025. Now, the markets think rates will still be at 5.9% in 2024 and at 5% by 2025!

Enough!Enough 😡

I was slightly surprised to hear Theresa May (one of several former failed Prime Ministers south of the border) has decided to step down at the next election.

Aside from the fact she cannot possibly go any further down than she already is, thanks to her political insignificance now, I thought she had already slunk off.

The UK is not suffering wage-price spiral , it is experiencing the continued impoverishment of anyone outside the sector;

the UK's rentier continues to be a machine to enrich one (small) segment of society through on a societal scale.... this is the system the have engineered whatever their rhetoric.

In others words; this is what you get when run your economy in their own interests!

Oooh, just discovered this excellent website by @JimmerUK

I have a text file on my computer of things I wanted to make sure I remembered to potentially use for political posts in the run up to the next election, so this is super-useful.

I mean HUGELY depressing, but useful.
