Next addition to my sponsorships is an obvious one. @hachyderm is an awesome instance, and I couldn't be happier about being here. @nova and the team behind it is doing an amazing job, and I'd urge anyone who is able to to consider sponsoring, which is super easy to do via GitHub ( https://github.com/sponsors/hachyderm )

Thanks and everyone who has helped making this such a friendly place!

I added Pull Request for a readme file. Hope that helps folks. Also, my first ever PR. I've been hesitant to do them for some reason on code. I figured I couldn't screw up code with just a README.md file. 😂 https://github.com/warthog9/mastodon-thegx-blocker/compare/main...p37307:patch-1?expand=1

Yearly sponsorship bill just paid. My goal for next year is to double the amount, and will try to identify a few more devs whose work I depend on either for work or for fun. Bonus if they have a presence in the fediverse, as I enjoy following their work. It's not much, but it's something.

Only @borkdude is on Mastodon currently (that I know), and if you've done anything in in the last few years, you'll most likely have encountered his work.

I tried to report to that their social links feature fails to correctly validate handles unless they are hosted on a mastodon, and all I got was a link to their community discussions 🙄.

Since Microsoft is big enough to only care about things when there is enough noise, here is a link where you can upvote / make noise. :nes_fire:

https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/53537

Until this is addressed, if you happen to be using any other server type (e.g. , , , etc), GitHub will not accept your handle as a fediverse social link.

If search Nixpkgs, I see that the latest release on stable is 5.4.2753.47. However, I can see the pull request and merge to update the package to 6.0.2979.15 on the master branch in . Shouldn't I be getting that version when I update my config?

I'm reviewed before, and it was less than glowing.

But they have something right now that is missing from . A way for the legacy blue checkers on Twitter to transfer their precious blue check.

The process is much simpler that what a normal person would have to do on Mastodon. (What's a rel attribute? I have to own a website?)

The people that had these blue checks were highly followed. Where they go, so goes their fans. Even if it's to an unsecure mess with no native app.

tchambers,

@box464 Very into a "how to get verified wizard idea.

Unfortunately it is, but when was the last time you signed up to a brand new social network? It's always hard at first. I personally think it has reached the critical mass to be enjoyable.

This is hilarious. A engineer invented to make command line scripting easier with , because at a certain point scripts get too complicated and you need a Real Language.

This is exactly ’s use case from thirty-six years ago. But the kids want everywhere and would rather it take more work to convert their ascended scripts to a vastly different syntax.

I'm just saying: the launch of
@wikipedia
@wikidata
@wikiresearch

All that does feel like some big new steps.

So does moving to integrate Mastodon identify verification into software itself.

"The end goal is that I can put e.g. https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Legoktm as a URL item and Mastodon will be able to verify it."

I'm going to be watching this VERY closely and supporting it however I can .👀

An interesting ... Bug? Feature? Spam vector?

Someone can create a private repo and then mention you in the issues.
You'll get an email notification with the issue contents.
Although you can unsubscribe, you can't report the message as abuse - because you don't have access to the repo!
