"What a sweet romance: an esteemed Hopkins scientist, whose research took him away from home, writing love letters back to his wife in Baltimore. Or so it seemed."
Project activity, software launches, updates, a spotlight on #sup3rS3cretMes5age - a one-time, self-destructing messaging service, and more in this week's self-hosted recap!
"After his exhibit closed, the postcards took over Frank’s life. Hundreds poured into his mailbox, week after week. He decided to create a website, PostSecret, where every Sunday he uploaded images of postcards he’d received in the mail." —Meg Bernhard for Hazlitt
"You're Makin' Me High" is the #leadSingle from American singer #ToniBraxton's second studio album, #Secrets (1996). The mid-tempo song represents a joint collaboration between the #GrammyAward-winning producer #Babyface and #BryceWilson. The beat of the song was originally for singer-songwriter #Brandy, with Dallas Austin pegged to write a lyric to override; however, Braxton had Babyface write lyrics for the song. https://youtu.be/fn8CjK8sYSM
Damn. I thought #kbin was where the cutting edge of information dissemination was, but #warThunder has a whole #wikipedia page dedicated to how it's absolutely crushing it. Who knew #MMORPGs were the future?!
For those who haven't witnessed anything re. information classification or the functioning of militaries or governments or other great organs of state, I refer you to the screenwriter Jonathan Lynn's words immortalised by the character Sir Humphrey in Yes, Minister:
"The Official Secrets Act is not to protect secrets but to protect officials"
I regret deeply I cannot remember which episode. I also refer you to Yes, Prime Minister s02e02 (dailymotion link) which illustrates something about leaks, and their investigation and prosecution. Not to mention how the #press works in promulgating these things! I really can't recommend it highly enough.
Idea: An #opensource#secrets manager, with a fancy web UI like #Hashicorp#Vault, that can organize secrets by folders and deployment target (dev, staging, prod) and the CLI tool can translate those folders, keys, and values into structured YAML or JSON output in addition to environment variables. Additionally, it can import secrets into new projects with structure YAML/JSON into the format.
We are looking for a free exercise setup to promote being careful with #secrets and #AI at our project #OWASP#wrongsecrets. What could be a possible way to do this?
An open source project created and managed by Bitwarden for managing secrets written in Rust!! You DEFINITELY got my attention! I love the idea, love the company and love the language. Cannot wait to test it out and maybe contribute.
What?
NDA‘s with Meta is like Shooting yourself.
You lose trust from the community and give power to Meta.
Anyone who knows about this should speak up.
This includes @dansup if he knows more about it.
Who was invited? What was the reason? who attended? what was talked about? Why NDAs? Was it Mastodon only or other Fedivers Projects ?
hi 💙 as someone who loves coreos this is definitely a problem area if you don't already have some kind of dedicated secrets manager you can grab secrets from. here are the docs from coreos on this topic. i used to keep my secrets on a secure location on my network and then quickly host the ignition file for my coreos install with python simple http server. this way, my secrets were never saved anywhere else. i hope this helps
The War Thunder forum has once again been used to share restricted plane documentation - this time about the F-117 Nighthawk (www.techradar.com)

Using Fedora CoreOS, how can I add secrets to podman systemd services?
Like the title says, does anyone know how to give systemd services a secret?...
