How do y’all recover from burnout? I need help 😭

clearnew,

@mariyadelano I can’t speak for anyone else but in my experience, I had to leave a job that stressed me out so bad that my blood pressure/sugar and anxiety were sky high. I learned I was and that my brain just couldn’t work that job without burning out. I left and took 6 months off and decompressed. My vitals are back to normal levels and my anxiety is manageable for the first time in a long time. I had to remove myself from that which was burning me out.

"We never saw any of this ADHD or autism stuff when I was young!"

You never saw any photos of the surface of Mars back then either, but I'm pretty sure it was still there the whole time

helligbird,
@helligbird@gamepad.club avatar

@Garwboy Even the doctors cooperate very poorly to diagnose adult people. My wife has had quite the journey to get diagnose and any medical treatment. Of course, nobody talked about it in the 80s when she was young. She was just "very distracted" and "all over the place." And if the system helps her, it also helps me.

45mins early for my ADHD assessment appointment, but that gave me enough time to fill out the forms I missed in the second email.

andrearennick,

It’s officially official! guess who has ?

tip:
Feed your cat every time you take your ADHD med at the same time every day. Your cat will never let you forget.

My afternoon strattera alarm went off at 11am, but I was so absorbed in my work I didn't see the alert. At 11:45am, Nikita was like umm its past 11am feed me!!

Thus reminding me to take my ADHD med.

BZBrainz, (edited )
@BZBrainz@mastodonbooks.net avatar

@ashleyspencer This is a great tip. When I used to provide education around medication management, I heavily encouraged people to pair the med with an activity that happened the same-ish time every day (coffee, brushing teeth) and set alarm to help habit formation. Feeding your cat? Brilliant. @actuallyautistic @Adhdinos @adhd

I'm stubborn and I continue to believe this is perfectly ok, when you are a curious traveler through the landscapes of knowledge.

Then I also believe one can have as may tabs open as they please because it is a private affair and no norm core f*** business how an individual prefers to organise their

amm01,

browser tabs.

It's not worth the time and energy to hate yourself for having many tabs open bc you are interested in stuff.

It's also normal that interest peters out at some point.

What you can do then: take a quick recap what you've learned so far, which questions you still have (or not) and enjoy your learnings. Then move on.

If you want to, give yourself the permission to indulge in a symphony of tabs, grouped or not, and enjoy the sound

I'm just finishing up a novel. I've been writing screenplays & other story-led narratives for decades. Classic structure has been drummed into me. But then, when I was diagnosed as neurodivergent, I thought, 'Hold on, maybe the traditional story model is actually a neurotypical device...'
I decided to let my / write my novel. In doing so, I have developed a new revolutionary storytelling model. You're welcome.

Ahaha, sweet child of the goddess. Don't you dare to ask an person about their favorite topics!

You will be punished with an eulogy no shorter than two hours. And you won't believe that anyone in the world can know only a thing about all these topics.

But here we are. I've been told that people like to talk to me because I seem to be able to talk about every topic.

As a doctor, I cant stress enough that if you think your doctor is doing a poor job, go to patient relations and explain why.

This is a way of advocating not only for yourself but for other patients.

Example:
-untimely refills is often easily rectified if more workers were hired (NPs, PAs, etc) and is a specific focus of labor cost cutting in the U.S. right now.

Every month my meds are refilled over a week later than when i submitted the request.

hannu_ikonen,
@hannu_ikonen@med-mastodon.com avatar

And yes as a doctor, the support staff made it clear to me that the doctor was the problem and so I fired him & filed a complaint with patient relations.

This is not an uncommon experience for people with , where outdated Federal and state laws make us beg, in person, for a med that corrects a mesocortical deficiency likely attributable in large part to the role of hydrocarbons on the developing brain.

State your needs, speak your voice in .

For those new here from to may I suggest @FediFollows as well as @feditips. If you’re interested in running your own server I personally use @mastohost for managing my service, simple to setup and pay them, been using them for months and it’s cheaper than Twitter blue for many individuals, but inexpensively can scale if you become more popular as I have been. Enjoy your time tooting posts away

Another for this mega thread of tips. If you happen to experience yourself getting Rate limited, no it's not that Elon Musk's ghost has followed you. has rate limits per user so the server isn't overloaded.
If you find this happening close your extra browser tabs with Mastodon open on your devices, and also consider using "Slow Mode" under Preferences -> Appearance.
My leaves many windows and tabs open often causing this.
