Among many things, use of the word “#Zionist” sets off alarms for the many different people who hear it. Is it pure #antisemitism? Or is it an attack on the Israeli govt, whose snr leaders have expressed concern that the #ICC will issue arrest warrants for them? Is it an assault on the right of #Israel to exist? Or is it a demand that it not continue to exist w/in its current contours & constructs w/the #Palestinian people?

Nonilex,

For some college presidents, there seems to be a belief that by ripping away the tents & clearing the courtyards, they are also expunging any & hurt from their campus — as if lives in these makeshift shelters & not in the heart. They demand that the protests be polite, convenient & perfect, or in the words of Princeton’s president, that the protests adhere to “time, place & manner” regulations.

Nonilex,
@Nonilex@masto.ai avatar

They call police to make arrests. They suspend students & declare them trespassers on their own campus. But the very meaning of a protest is to disrupt the status quo, to bring thoughtless momentum to a halt, to underscore precisely how imperfect the world really is.

I’m here to post cat and flower pictures. Posting about antisemitism is exhausting, but not as exhausting as encountering it and seeing it dismissed or even amplified by other users. The context here is a deleted post which has been screenshot elsewhere (“Jews put a premium on the lives of sons. Daughters? Not so much. They'll toss them to a crowd of rapists” ). This church of Jeff account defends that vile statement and spreads the old fashioned style of which seeks to portray Jewish texts as perverse and Jews as perverse and sinister. Why do so many people follow an account that promotes antisemitic libels? Do they agree? because it sure looks like it.

More evidence, as if any were needed, that people have lost their goddamned minds.

“Oh sure they brutally murdered those women. But did they abuse them? We demand to know!“

Never mind this was one of the most thoroughly documented atrocities of all time.

I’m old enough to remember when these Hamas cockroaches sent a 22-y-o kid to blow himself up at a party primarily attended by teenaged Russian Jewish émigrés. (2001) Is there no degradation, no foul act, to which one could not imagine them stooping?

But credulous American academics want to wash the blood off of their hands. has made these people insane. Or the other way around; can’t say for sure.

I’m sharing this because it is some of the most vile Mein Kampf level I have seen on Mastodon. Isn’t this place supposed to be better than that?

It is astounding to me how people who espouse Nazi beliefs can actually consider themselves anti-Nazi.

This is indistinguishable from Hitler’s (yimakh shemo) perspective. If you lament that we “didn’t learn our lesson” from the Holocaust or if you, like this poster, consider the Holocaust to be some kind of preemptive justice against us, you are part of the “Hitler was right” crowd even as you delude yourself that you’re anti-Nazi. We see through you. All you’re missing is a swastika armband.

When people use coercion and bullying to press a point they want to claim is moral, I step back. I step back because I recognize that their use of coercion and bullying radically undermines their claim to be making a moral point.

This is long how I've dealt with the so-called pro-life movement as it tries to convince the rest of us that it holds the moral high ground and occupies the only possible moral position about abortion.

If these people were fulfilled, busy building their lives, getting somewhere, investing in a better future for themselves or for others, if they were inspired by life -

They would never dedicate their days to hatered, anti semitism, and pure violence.

I believe that with all my heart.

It is so sad that these people have all the opportunities one could want yet they choose to do nothing productive and fulfilling, not seeing how their own emptiness leaves only room to hate, blame, and hate some more.

No narrative in the world can change the fact that it is about the haters, not about the hated. I want you to remember that, my friends, when times get rough. They are just sad, empty people. Happy, busy, fulfilled people don't have the time for that. We are too busy doing good things with out lives.

False claims of antisemitism are antisemitic.

They detract from claims about genuine antisemitism and make it that much more difficult to get people to listen when it does happen.

But I think many of the people making false claims of antisemitism know that and are banking on it because they hate us just as much as they hate Palestinians.

If antisemitism rears its ugly head at the current student protests, Zimmer thinks that it should of course be challenged immediately and vigorously by those involved in the protests.

I checked Google Maps. It's about 1,000 feet.

The New York Stock Exchange, where these Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists were "protesting" last week, is about 1,000 feet from where similar terrorists brought down the World Trade Center on 9/11.

Do you remember the 9/11 attacks? Do you remember anyone saying they were "heroic" or "exhilarating"?
