Gaza: Gas rich, but in ruins

As the world watches Israel’s military onslaught on the Gaza Strip, there is one development that has received close to zero attention: Israel’s granting of 12 new licences for gas exploration.

Palestinians say much of it falls within their maritime borders, under international law.

Did a gas/electric fixed tarrif with in February but I read an article today from which says check your tarrif as the price cap may not go as low as predicted.

So I checked mine and the March fixed tariff for existing customers is now £70 per year cheaper (based on my consumption) than the February fixed. No exit fees so got it swapped over!

This is the article I read this morning:
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/utilities/are-there-any-cheap-fixed-energy-deals-currently-worth-it/

Hope that helps someone!

A mere 57 oil, gas, coal and cement producers are directly linked to 80% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions since the 2016 Paris climate agreement, a study by Carbon Majors Database has shown.
In the database of 122 of the world’s biggest historical climate polluters, the researchers found that 65% of state entities and 55% of private-sector companies had scaled up production.

It just so neatly encapsulates some of our country's problems. Will you sign the Australia Institute petition to greatly increase the Petroleum Resource Rent Tax? The Institute also has a good video summarising their position on this issue.
