She's the prom king, queen and everything in between: Meet the only #HighSchoolGrad in #KingsCove this year.

Despite her being the only #graduate, Maggie's ceremony will be much like any other. There will be a #graduation gown, speeches, toasts, a few dances, food and a decorated hall.

"Everybody gets a big ceremony. So just because she's in a class by herself doesn't mean she doesn't deserve to celebrate the 13 years that she's gone through school."

U.S. President Joe Biden is set to give a commencement address this Sunday at Morehouse, a historically Black college in Atlanta that counts Dr. Martin Luther King among its graduates. But the president’s coming speech has sparked consternation from the graduating class. Some students see Biden using Morehouse as a political tool for Black votes in an election year, and others are considering ways to protest his Middle East policies without overshadowing the celebration for their families. NPR has more.

The backlash over NFL player Harrison Butker's commencement address continues. NPR looks at the reaction to the Kansas City Chiefs kicker's speech, in which he said one of the most important titles a woman can hold is "homemaker," and railed against abortion rights, Pride Month, COVID-19 lockdowns, "dangerous gender ideologies" and the "cultural emasculation of men."

I am very much not looking forward to the ceremony tonight

It's gonna be so boooooring

So many boomers saying boomer words about how awesome they are

Do people like
Actually enjoy this kind of event?
Honest question.

Maybe these ceremonies are a thing I'm too to understand?

I mean, they continue to like. Exist, so to me that signals there is someone who must enjoy them.

They say today is Figure Friday. So, let's go to a tiny figure I have on my desk.

When I graduated kindergarten, this little puppy was sitting on the top of the cake. All through my childhood and into college, it followed me on my dresser the entire time.

Since I entered the workforce after graduating with my Masters, it has been on my desk since. It's a good reminder, I totally was a "Super Grad" from kindergarten. I could tie my shoes and everything.

Hope you have a great Friday and weekend.

Hi there, does anyone know of a good place that I can go to online that would just allow me to take classes enough to just finish my credits for college? I am basically almost done with my degree, but I don't want to start all over because I failed out once, I very simply want to go to school, get the rest of my credits, get my graduation paperwork with no ceremony, and that's it. Anything out there I am willing to do to finish I will take at this point as long as I can graduate from a university with a Bachelors degree, that's all that matters to me.

Székesfehérvár, 1957. A wonderful photo of high school students and their teacher. Their formal dress strongly suggests it was taken around at their graduation. Hungarian high students form a life-long bond during their high school years, largely because they stay in the same form class throughout their four years at high school.
