This is my first #Peertube upload, a collection of animations that I made as an example of how a level selection screen could be handled for my racing game.
If you have a second, I'd love to hear what happens when other people click this link.
Is there a good guide to #Peertube? What's a good #Android app? What's a good way to discover content? For example, how would I find guitar equipment reviews/comparisons?
@errhead & @agates - I know you both do things with @peertube … what do you think about @owncast? I frequently see #PeerTube listed as a YouTube alternative and #Owncast as a Twitch alternative. The latter is frequently mentioned as the best live streaming option that’s hooked into the #Fediverse but I see you all using PeerTube for this instead… thus my curiosity.

Check out this fantastic conversation with her on the latest episode of #DotSocial on our #PeerTube instance or wherever you get your #podcasts.
The GitHub repo for PeerTuber, the upcoming opensource mobile app for #PeerTube is now live. There's still a bit of housekeeping to do, but this is where you'll find the project: https://github.com/PeerTuber/PeerTuber
I‘m going to mirror my #YouTube uploads to #PeerTube in the future. Videos should automatically appear shortly after they appear on my YT channel (but obviously without any random YouTube ads). Found a cozy place at https://makertube.net/video-channels/janbeta@MakerTube for now and it seems to work seamlessly. Embrace the Fediverse, people! 😘
Just realized it isn't S3 storage what I potentially need for the #Peertube instance I might want to host but that other service thingy for improved bandwidth. 🙃
This is great news. Between games nobody asked for, endless ads, and Shorts, hopefully users will finally be annoyed enough with #youtube to begin leaving the platform. 👋
Be sure to recommend your friends try out a #PeerTube instance like tilvids.com to experience a video community more reminiscent of how online video used to be. 💙
I've got a few months of hosting a #peertube instance and have learned quite a few things. One thing that surprised me was that the cost of storage and network bandwidth was not nearly as much as I thought it was going to be. That being said, the cost of hosting a server capable of handling the CPU loads of transcoding a live #stream turned out to be quite higher than I was expecting.
I can afford it but it has me looking at what my plans are for the future with an eye towards cost. (cont'd)
I'm not feeling very inspired lately, but I don't want to fall out of the habit of making videos. So I thought I'd hit up all of you BRILLIANTLY INSIGHTFUL GENIUSES to help me come up with an idea.
I need you to reply with an idea. I'll take the best 4 ideas, and have everyone vote on their favorite. Whichever wins, I'll make it and give credit to the one who came up with it.
This could be great, or a disaster. Either way, it's content.
I'm using Prosody+ConverseJS to add some chatting capabilities to #peertube (streaming software)
For such streaming platforms, there is a very useful feature, called the "Slow Mode". As far as i know, there is no XEP to describe this feature. So… I made a draft.
This is not submitted yet. As it is my first one, i'd like to have some people to have a look, and tell me if there are mispelling, misconception, or things to clarify.
We are in the process of developing a mobile application in 2024 🎉 :peertube:
Before starting the technical development, we felt it was important to understand the expectations of people who are watching #PeerTube videos.
We're looking for a few people to take part in a short 30 minutes video conference during the week of 15-19 January to find out more about your needs and opinions regarding the adaptation of PeerTube as a mobile application.
