Not a surprise to see some of this starting to happen. It actually makes sense for corporate entities to start their own instances of #Mastodon for sharing out information and building a network of followers that can't be capriciously switched off when some billionaire decides they no longer like you. 👏

Ik schrik toch wel een beetje als ik naar @angrynerdspodcast luister. Iedereen daar lijkt nog op #Twitter te zitten. De #Fediverse (steevast aangeduid als Mastodon) wordt meer als een ‘erbij-dingetje’ gezien lijkt het.
Er is nog veel evangelisatie te doen vrees ik. Misschien de #AngryNerds toch maar voorzien van toegang tot een #peertube zodat ze daar ook kunnen publishen, zodat YouTube ook naar de achtergrond kan.

I just got done chatting with a creator that I invited to share on #tilvids and while they were interested, they ultimately decided not to because they didn't want to detract from what they were doing on YT. As a creator myself, I completely understand, but this is why it's so important for everyone in the #fediverse community to reach out to creators and encourage them to share on #PeerTube The message coming from their viewers is so much more powerful than some random instance host. 💙
I've reformatted it to be a "one stop shop" for anyone curious about PeerTube, with useful non-technical info alongside safe interesting content. Channels are curated through an allowlist, so people won't see any nasty stuff.

Mich frustriert es wirklich nicht (mehr), dass das Fediverse offenbar bisher nur eine überschaubare Minderheit der Gesellschaft anspricht. Damit kann ich sehr gut leben.
Was mich aber doch etwas wurmt, ist die Realität, dass es hier meiner Beobachtung nach nur wenige junge aktive Menschen gibt. Weshalb finden #Jugendliche z.B. TickTock oder Instagram ansprechend, kommunizieren dort mit ihren peer groups, während die ganze interoperable Breite und Vielfalt des #Fediverse (#Pixelfed, #Friendica, #Peertube, #Mastodon…)) für junge Leute offenbar komplett uninteressant zu sein scheint?

Wisst ihr, was wirklich genial wäre. Wenn es ein Projekt geben würde, dass einen fertigen #RaspberryPi anbietet, den man nur noch anstöpseln muss, und beim ersten Start dann nur noch aussucht, welche Software man für die #Fediverse nutzen möchte. So könnte ein Großteil eine eigene Instanz (Server) betreiben.

Writing this open source #PeerTube mobile app has taught me that I have a very bad case of OCD.
I prepared to commit the code to a repo by refactoring the app to use "clean architecture" and tweaking comments and so on. I feel like I'll never commit it if I keep this up. 😩
So I have decided that I will start running #peertube and start streaming onto the fediverse.
After Glimesh.tv shut down it was pretty clear I needed to rethink what I wanted to do for streaming. Twitch has gotten sort of better but it's still not great. YouTube, every time I look into streaming there, finds more reasons to push me away.
I realized I have 80% of the system requirements to run a peertube instance and upgrading to 100% won't be that expensive.
On filme nos matchs pour analyser le jeu de chacun et donner des objectifs d'amélioration personnalisés ! On voudrait que les joueurs puissent avoir accès aux vidéos en ligne, une idée d'une instance #peertube@peertube hébergée en France qui serait adaptée pour ce contenu ?
