Three climate activists have been found guilty under the new law that seeks to repress protests that interfere with key national infrastructure.
With the jury instructed to ignore the defendants' reasoning behind their actions its perhaps unsurprising they were found guilty... all a bit ironic given the unseasonal heat in the court room.
Sentencing is to come & will show how serious an impact the law may have... but its not going to be good!
The fucking government made it a crime to say the words "climate change" in court, as a defence.
How the fuck is that justice? The tories have turned the UK into a fucking fascist shit hole, We are literally swimming in our own shit.
The fucking corrupt #ukgov tories should be in jail, not the protestors.
We need revolution to smash this tory establishment
The UK Gov petition for "Require videogame publishers to keep games they have sold in a working state" has had a response as it's passed 10k signatures.
The response is long and for once detailed, with some interesting points
It's hard to believe we live in a world where Diabetics have to ration their insulin supply or risk death, despite the drug being developed for more than 40 years.
Definition of irony; Braverman being a fascist gobshite and kicking off about the London ceasefire match saying it's a hate march and sidelining the Met. All the while it's actually the Brexit loons waving St George's flags (more irony right there, just slather it on thickly) being aggressive against the police and chanting 'England till I die' at the cenotaph.
'The British government has quietly sacked an independent advisory board of eight experts that had once been poised to hold public sector bodies to account for how they used artificial intelligence technologies and algorithms to carry out official functions.'
UK Home Office's recent attack on e2e encryption moves into the realm of baseless propaganda, diverging significantly from much of the rest of UK gov & from established expert consensus, complete w media salvo
Let's review, it's important to recognize what they're doing...1/
So the scrapping of the #insulation scheme is probably the most baffling of all of the roll-backs that #Rishi Sunak announced yesterday - at least when seen from Scandinavia - British houses are legendary for their leakiness.
US spy-tech firm Palantir was a shoo-in for a multi-million-pound NHS contract months before the deal was signed, emails obtained by openDemocracy appear to show.
The email exchange from 2020, in which senior #NHS executives discussed the budget for a new national data platform, sees more than one person referring to #Palantir as the recipient of the funding.
Uk gov petition: Stop all new oil and gas developments
This petition is still active but slowing down. Enough people have signed it to trigger a response from the UK government, next one to aim for is 100,000 for a debate.
If you are able to sign it please do (and encourage others) #UKGov#ClimateAction#Wales#NorthernIreland#England#Scotland
The level of fuckwittery to expand oil drilling in the North Sea during the hottest year experienced by humanity in all its existence is off the charts. Tories are absolute shitbags. #northSea#ukGov#ukPol#climateChange#globalHeating
Please ask the #UKGov to #StopEquinor and #StopRoseBank
The govt is planning to approve Equinor's massive Rosebank oil field.
We are currently way off track to limit warming to 1.5°C, which is deemed the safest, liveable temperature rise still possible.
Burning the #fossilfuels in existing projects will push us past this target. Adding new developments like Rosebank will push us closer to parts of our world becoming uninhabitable. www.stopcambo.org.uk
