A set of vintage black & white photos of children wearing homemade Halloween costumes. They are very disturbing images, to put it mildly. Four kids wearing combinations of dirty clothes, sheets, and blankets have whole-head masks on that may be made out of cloth (but it's hard to tell for sure). Regardless, the cut-out eyes, crooked mouths, and weird wigs and hats make the children appear ghoulish.
A set of vintage black & white photos of children (adults, maybe?) wearing homemade Halloween costumes. They are very disturbing images, to put it mildly. Three people wearing costumes. One is wearing a relatively normal-looking dress but their head looks like a dark brown or black Mr Potato Head toy with huge round eyes and a scraggly mouth with a light-colored Pippi Longstockings wig. He or she may have a corncob pipe in their mouth. Another is dressed as a scary clown, complete with pointy hat and a white face and dark (red?) nose and lips. The third may be dressed up as a gypsy but it's hard to tell in the photo. They're wearing a dress (or blouse and skirt) that are part-solid colored and part-patterned. Their face is covered in white makeup and they have thin, twisted hair hanging down past their shoulders. It's probably a wig but it's hard to know for sure.

They appear to be made out of boxes that are just big enough to put their heads into. Each one is, of course, flat on the sides and on the top but they're covered in black "hair" that's probably made from yarn, I'd guess. The "hair" hangs down the sides of each "mask", including the face - except that each face has been cut free of the yarn so that the result is a black head with a white face. (Probably looks pretty spooky in the dark.) Each face has a cone nose (think of having an ice cream cone in the center of your face) with eyes and a mouth cut out of the box so the wearer can see and speak.
