People seeing me in the train station, on the platform and right after departure taking every angle of everything must have thought it was something unusual for me when I'm just on the spectrum with a very cliché specific interest for trains. I have more pictures of some trains I took to go somewhere than the actual place lmao. Here is my reflection!

I never know when too much is too much or not enough when it come to casual alt text. If I couldn't see I would like to know some details besides the goal of the picture but it's maybe an ableist idea. Any thoughts?

How can I test my PC set up is OK on MS Teams?

The IT department of my actual company keeps telling me that my computer is the issue BUT I'm using exactly the same computer, book, etc. to teach online that I use with another company.

I don't know Teams very well but is the issue can come from their corporate MS Teams account that I use to teach?

Friday was a nightmare, it frozen so many times, same thing today. 😭

How close is your final manuscript to your first draft?

This depends on the definition of first draft!

A "draft" implies a complete but unrefined version. If you compare my first complete version of a piece with the final version, it will largely be the same narrative with varying amounts of difference in the way it's portrayed.

But, some scenes in there will already have been re-written or edited by the time I get to a complete first draft. Most of what I wrote when I started the project will be completely different.

I have to write to discover the story, but that doesn't me mean what I wrote in that discovery process IS the story... if that makes sense 🙃

There's the double empathy problem and there is also the aspect that the members of a suppressed group are mostly much better to get into the mind of the oppressor than the other way around, because it's a survival mechanism. This can not only be applied to minority groups like people, but is also one reason why many people think that "women are so complicated".

The problem with capitalism is its lack of ambition and imagination. The epitome of achievement under capitalism is owning the most profitable fishmonger’s stall. Fishmongers are useful and have their place. But should we limit the potential of a whole species by their success criteria? I think not. Humanity can end war, wipe out hunger and disease, and explore the stars. But not while our ambitions are curbed by the myopic worldview of those whose only expertise is making a profit.

Hey pals,

I have a request for help!

A good friend's young adult son has ADHD but is really self-conscious about it so he hasn't gotten any help for it. He is really resistant to talking about it or seeking help. He feels like he's weird and no one else is like him. But he's really struggling.

What are some resources you would recommend for someone in that position?

Not just about ADHD, but feeling comfortable, normal, or unashamed too. Groups he can join to talk with other ADHDers?

@adelinej Thank you for asking a clarifying question! For better or worse, I am in the USA.

I'm not so concerned with accommodations yet, but just having some places to learn about life hacks, reframing self-narrative, etc. I am following and hashtags and groups, although these have been more "bite-sized" and scattered sources of information. I'd like to find a place with a bunch of educational resources.

I will likely be addressing some of this with my personal therapist, but he is not (I think), so I'd like to also start listening to the community's recommendations.

    Since starting the hacker graphic novel project nearly a decade ago I learned how hard it is to explain communities using a visual language.

    It makes me even more happy to see my photo from a meeting circulating on the Internet, promoting the organization.

    There's just so much joy in the faces of activists and makers from Denmark and Ghana working together on grassroots projects, chilling after a conference.
