Care for the future? I find it telling how totally normalized flying has again become, as if there's no tomorrow. Nobody seems to think it's a problem anymore. But it is.

Influencers have no qualms posting about flying out for weekends, events, drop-ins. Friends and their neighbours fly for distant vacations, concerts, quick visits.

The spirit of 2019, a hope of turning the tide, is gone.

Let's travel sustainably. Let's sense distance again. Let's celebrate the act of truly travelling again.

FREE 3D Printer! Any that wants this customised and upgraded Ender 2 just needs to come and collect it from J4/J5 M40 ASAP, ideally this weekend.

I gave about 20 of these away, back when I had a big following on the other site, before it became a festering shitpile and this is the last one I have left. It was the testbed for customisation, so it's fully loaded!

As Michael Gove joins the nearly quarter of Tory MPs standing down at the election, the joke that 'would the last person leaving the Tory party please turn off the lights' seems to be ever more apposite.

For many Gove's departure will be welcome, but it also reinforces the notion that the post-election Tory party may be very different from its most recent manifestation.

The Q. will be, will they swing further to the right, shift to the 'centre', of collapse into fragments?

Yes, in a sense, as Labour seems to be angling for the old One Nation Conservatism slot (now vacant), the Tories are being squeezed to the right (not that many of them are complaining)... what will be interesting is how the media create a narrative around that (with the rump-Tories working perhaps being satisfied with being 'right' but unelectable, for now)?

Anyone have a recommendation for a minimal violence fantasy (or science-fiction) RPG? As a point of reference, Wow is a bit more violence than my partner can tolerate and she did not like Mass Effect's shooting..

We've mostly been doing Stardew, Wylde Flowers and Timberborn together and have done Minecraft in the past but I'm itching for something with a deeper narrative that we can play together.

I'd welcome other genres too.

@simon_brooke It's really a shame but I'm hoping we'll see more developers branch out a little more with cozy games picking up so much steam over the last few years.

I’ll personally play just about anything but I've always appreciated games that give you non-violent options. Playing games with my partner though has really made that a priority.

Since my parter's sensitivity to violence is related to her neurodivergence this is actually an accessibility issue.

I hope you do finish your game!

I'm really proud of Standingstone today. A baby was born here this morning, in the yurt we erected for his parents a fortnight ago. I'm proud that we have been able to give them a place to be, relatively protected from the stresses of the world, at this important moment.

But I'm a bit ashamed for Scotland that the best place we can offer to a pair of strangers in our midst, only one of whom speaks English well, to bring a child into the world, is a tent in a field.
