Syrskiy has just announced two#Russia Su-34 downed this morning. I can’t say whether it’s one overnight and two in the morning, so 3 in total, or two in the morning including that night one (2 in total).
In any case, it’s good news because these bombers are one of the contributors to fall of Avdiivka, puncturing #Ukraine defence with heavy guided bombs. This plays well with a number of Ukraine’s counter-offensive movements on the critical parts of the frontline (see today’s @ufd)
Many commentators immediately started complaining “why not 2 weeks ago”. Except we don’t know - there are many possible reasons. For example:
they had no anti-air missiles and now they got them;
they were needed elsewhere;
they had intelligence Russians temporarily ran out of missiles on other directions;
whatever hundreds of other reasons were in force.
We need to accept the fact that war is not an online talk show or a comedy and you aren’t being shown all possible angles in real time. Trust Armed Forces of Ukraine and continue donations to your favourite FPV or humanitarian fundraisers.
