"I was born to a family that harnessed the winds and could read futures in fire and water. Yet my mother kept her secrets. Then the werewolf came, sharing his madness. Now it’s my turn to keep secrets...."
I spoke with Vincent O'Donnell of Arts Alive about my new book, The She-Wolf of Baker Street, on the weekend. The spot will be on his show today, between 12 and 1pm. YOu can 'listen live'from midday!
I'm thrilled with my first review for The She-Wolf of Baker Street!!! Ashleigh Meikle says:
"As ancient & modern worlds, mythology & reality collide...this unique Holmesian adventure was brilliantly executed, & managed to traverse the fae traditions in a modern context to allow the story to work well & come to life as part of the Holmesian cannon of literature."
Wolf Lore, WEREWOLVES are notorious WEDDING CRASHERS & will rush into a Wedding Snatch the Bride, scurrying into the night with the Bride whom is never seen again. #Werewolves do not change under a FULL MOON they transform through black magic using an amulet or spell. #mythologymonday
Now that I have a new website (and have cleared out all the old posts) I will occasionally edit and reprint old posts - today it's all about the myth of the Alpha wolf, and my new werewolf!Mrs Hudson Holmesian book, The She-Wolf of Baker Street, due out this month!
Read BROTHERSONG by TJ Klune if you live complicated family dynamics, the color pink, trauma narratives, heartbeats, tiny cabins in the woods, lonely road trips, ghosts, finding your place in the world, deep-seated guilt, repetition, community support, queer werewolves & breaking cycles.
Ok, I have to confess, after always writing sci-fi, I’m really enjoying writing this romance book. Didn’t know if I would, but these two are adorkable paranormals and crack me up. I’ve never laughed so much while writing.
Results of 6 polling sources looking for correlations between a person's preference for wearing shoes vs if they would prefer to be a vampire or a Werewolf.
I expected the two high peaks.
The W+S response is higher than I though it would be, but still falls in my prediction it'd be the lowest selection rate.
A sample size of 78 is much better turnout than I expected. Still too small to 'write a paper' as a friend would say.

Top of the pops on my website this week is my accidental growing of the massively poisonous and hallucinogen Datura stramonium or devil’s snare! A fascinating plant in #mythology and #folklore the world over but not one to have with a family around.
