#Busted - A specialist #police officer (Roads Policing Unit) in #Yorkshire Northern #England has been sacked for #driving at 154 mph (248 km/h) in a Police vehicle without a valid reason to do so (I don't understand how he thought he'd get away with it, the vehicles are full of telemetry and surveillance kit)
This is going to be my last post on Mastodon now. I don't have time for it anymore and there's never much interraction anyway so rather just call it a day. Thanks all for your support over the time I've been on here and wish you all the very best for the future. I will still be on X of course if you want to catch up.
Goodnight all and very best wishes #Landscape#goodbye#signingoff#yorkshire#photo#photography

Catch them while you can; ghost signs don't last forever.
Sadly, when John Connell headed out to photograph this multi-layered palimpsest in Wakefield, it was gone, lost to aggresive cleaning of the brick between 2016–23.

Morning all. It’s #WorldCurlewDay today. Please spread the love for these terrific endangered birds. Born in a Pennine village next to the moors, the distinctive curlew cry is an evocative sound of my childhood. If you’re out for a walk on the moors keep your dog on a lead. Curlews may be nesting. xx

For those who have never come across them, ‘Uncle Mort' (author Peter Tinniswood) is hillarious. In this series (of 15 minute programs), he tours Wales.
