@EverydayMoggie@hrefna Houston tried to evacuate for a hurricane a few years ago and it was a complete disaster. As a rule, you can’t evacuate cities because many people don’t have cars. Those vehicles that do exist jam the roads and they’re stuck on the road endangering their lives if the hurricane hits while they’re in their vehicle.
It is 2023 and in the past 24 hours at least a dozen men have said to me some variation of "women just don't like computers."
I don't think this is even all trolling. I think they genuinely think this. And will cite "actual women I've talked to" as a source. Where are those actual women, are they in the room with us now?

Stay or go? The only feasible direction for me is east. I could make Phoenix in 4 hours but the rain could start before then & continue & the dog & I will be in a Mini. On the other hand, we live in a 5th wheel RV which is sturdy but might not offer the best shelter. People in my neighborhood FB groups are arguing about "how bad" it will get & laughing at folks. I am not supposed to be worrying about hurricanes (plus tornadoes 😱) in the desert, you all!
@crcollins I don’t know the area you live in but I live in hurricane prone country. Traveling is usually discouraged unless you’re on the coast or in flood prone areas. If you stay make sure you have bottled water, Gatorade, some packaged food that doesn’t require cooking, flashlight and batteries, tarps can come in handy. Fill your vehicle. If you have a pet then extra pet food. Make sure your phone is charged. If you have to evacuate have a plan
