We took in Penguin (left) December of last year, she had been living on the street her whole life. Essentially, I guess we rescued her, but our large Manx cat, Mr Minx (right) has given her something we never could, the companionship of her own kind. It always makes me smile seeing them together. 🙂

I was reading about the billionaire sub debacle this morning and though I don't wish that fate on anyone, I do find it extremely frustrating that the US and Canadian taxpayers will foot the bill for the attempted rescue and possible recovery. With at least two billionaires and the owner of the company on board, why can't their estates be presented a bill?

This is not a standard Coast Guard rescue of a tipped over fishing boat, these people paid $250k for this risk. Adventure has inherent risk!

Pixie and Mr. Minx are the best of friends, they've been napping together for years now. In the beginning Pixie slept on Mr. Minx but roles have since been reversed.

The new dog beds are a big hit too.

It's a bittersweet day, after six months of rehabilitation, Michaelangelo the red eared slider is returning to his ancestral pond! He's come a long way from the Canadian geese pecking him on the trail. I'm not going to lie, the live prey breeding and native aquatic plant requirements have been strenuous to keep up with. I asked a herp vet I know, he said it's now or never on reintroduction so he's on his way. 🐢

The Penguin, our neighborhood stray tuxedo made his Caturday appearance. I put a handful of food by my mailbox to coax him to my yard. I still aspire to be the fanciest man in Arnold with three tuxedo cats.

Hello everyone, happy Sunday!🙂👋 How is everyone and everything today We went to a rescue farm that takes in animals about to be slaughtered or retired after they can no longer work. It was a wonderful experience, my wife and daughter got to hug the St. Louis Six. They are six steers who escaped the slaughter house years ago, five are still living in the farm, one passed and has a memorial pond. I recommend it if you're in the area.
