Hello #WritingCommunity
Apparently #Google has changed their privacy policy and now says that they'll scrape everything you post online to train their AI tools.
I even post my #Fiction online on #Substack & my #Wordpress blog and now wonder if this is a bad idea.
They say paywalls could deter the scraping.
What do you think writers can do to protect their content? Or should we just roll over and accept that this is the way things will be from now on?

My friend got #Covid and went to the government clinic to get #Paxlovid.
Guess how much she paid for the meds?
ZERO.
The doc also gave her 6 month supply of blood pressure meds. She had to pay for that, however.
RM1 (about US$0.25)
Universal healthcare is wonderful and I am glad #Malaysians have it.

I mean, yeah, I dislike some ways #BBC reports about matters but I am still happy they decided to participate in the #Fediverse.

Heck even if #CNN joins I will be happy, and I loathe their reporting.

You want decentralised #SocialMedia to gain popularity and diversity, or do you just want to keep it "pure" and populated by people who agree with you?

Wow its nearing November which means it's been a year since I am on #Mastodon! I want to still say I am the happiest I have ever been on #SocialMedia - I have met so many wonderful people from around the world, especially from the #Malaysia #CDrama and #KDrama world.
Lovely people who just want to spread fun and positivity. It just never felt that way on #Twitter. It felt very competitive & angry there. Here I can just carefully filter my feed to avoid it. Thank you for existing, #Fediverse!

Most of you are lovely.
But those of you who police what people say and #CW really need to stop. This was something I didn't even encounter on the hell hole that was #Twitter.
I prefer people to CW political posts, but if they don't, it doesn't make my life hell. I just filter or block of I need to.
We all need to manage our mental health. We shouldn't expect people to do that for us.

I wish people would stop
casually spouting anti-China things at me when I talk about China. (And I talk about it a lot cos I love #CDramas). Although I am not a CCP fan, I am STILL CHINESE and it sometimes feels freaking Sinophobic and hurts, OK?

You complain so much about Nazis but are OK with painting Chinese people in a bad light (namely they are brainwashed, have no agency etc).
Like, stop already.

Oh man this is literally so amazing. Thanks to the #ActivityPub WP.com integration, my #CDrama #KDrama blog dramatea now has its own Mastodon profile. This is all kinds of cool. Theoretically I can literally use my blog as a #Fediverse instance. I wonder how this will change the Fediverse? How big will it grow? 🤔

Revathi is an ex-colleague of mine at the paper and the healthiest person I know. She used to teach us yoga in the company gy. She ate healthy etc. To read that she's battling long covid - it is so unfair.
But that's the thing #Covid19 doesn't play fair.
We are mask free in most places now, but I can't help but wonder if we should bring back mask mandates to #Malaysia.

This is a PSA that you need to watch the Chinese TV adaptation of #ThreeBody before you the #Netflix version. I have little confidence that Netflix or the folks who butchered Game Of Thrones will do it justice.
At least absorb the unique POV this #Cdrama offers before the Netflix defines your vision of Liu Cixin's books.
