Hey folks!

Please do NOT report artists for sharing links to where their art is available to purchase!

Just DO NOT be such a jerk!

If you want artists to keep sharing their work on mastodon, this whole "absolute no commercial posts at all" attitude has to stop. There is a huge difference between a big corporate ad campaign and an individual artist posting a link to their own art shop.

Edit/Update: Well, this blew up. I'm muting now, and won't see replies.

My first large plot in many months: a new Carousel, about 5 hours in, about 2 hours remaining. Cyan and yellow are down, magenta going down now, and finally black. Python generated and plotted on a vintage HP DraftPro DXL on 24”x36” watercolor paper.

See next post for completed plot!

Starting six years ago this month: "City Planning," a series of pen plots that imagines fictional city grids. This algorithm evolved over the years to include circles, waterways, and devoid areas and I continue to build upon it.

A drawing of parallel lines that form rectangles in white ink on black paper. In certain quadrants, the angle changes. It looks like a fictional city street map.

Life as an artist with a chronic illness is HARD. I've been mulling over the idea of a Patreon for a while but I think unless you have a sizeable audience, it can be a whole lot of work for little financial reward.

So instead, I've set up a shop to sell affordable digital downloads of my work. I've added a few iPad wallpapers and will aim to add a few items each day.

Any other ideas for low effort income streams are welcome! 😜

New pen plot inspired by dazzle ships: thin bisecting white space lines with bounded areas shaded in Breton stripes. 11”x17” Bristol on a HP 7550+

With less than a month to go, I’m trying to get back into the swing of things for my exhibit at in April.

I think my Roland DPX-2000 will make an appearance this year. I was able to source 17x22 paper (not cheap but the quality is 😏) so here’s the beginning of some Truchet tiles.

Detail of a Roland DPX-2000 pen plotter, a large machine with a black top surface loaded with paper and a gantry holding a pen drawing a design in the early stages with lots of interconnected arcs. A red LED segment display is visible showing the current X and Y axis position.

Wearable art, anyone?

I've decided to sell this rave mask I made in 2020. It would look absolutely incredible on most adults, I have a teeny skull and so it's too big on me. This is also a really incredible piece for modeling, even if you never wear it out of the studio. The chain is adjustable, and should fit most people.

This mask will not (I repeat, will not) provide protection from airborne particles and will only minimally repress the escape of your own airborne particles. If you want to wear this to an event and mask, I recommend wearing a light mask underneath it.

DM me if you're interested. Because this is a prototype, it's vegan and also a little cheaper than I would typically sell something like this for. I'm asking $100 or, if you're in love with it and you DM me first, I'm willing to haggle.

A person models the mask from before. It covers most of her face, including nose and mouth, and extends down beyond the chin. The mirrors reflect the sunlight, and bits of her environment can be seen in the reflection.

Good morning!

I only need to sell 10 more illustrations by Friday night to hit my revised and much reduced goal!

So I’m going to show you my 10 favourite pieces throughout the day but there are plenty of others on my shop too.

First up is this one, I love books (reading them and drawing them) so had to include this

Kaka'ako Gecko, photography. This is the actual color of this cheeky fellow, no photoshop enhancement! He was hanging out in my favorite flower shop in Kaka'ako on Oahu. The shop is called Paiko.
