For those who might not know, since 2013, students from Pembroke College have organised an annual public lecture in honour of J.R.R. Tolkien.
The lecture series promotes the study of fantasy literature, and advances our understanding of it, by inviting influential and talented speakers to share their ideas on the field.
Tomorrow, it’ll be exactly one year since I made the initial commit on the #QamiX website. To be honest, I had hoped to be much further along with the project by this time, but unfortunately this year was full of new opportunities and challenges.
But it‘s November yet again and that means #NaNoWriMo. Instead of writing a novel, I want to use this month to make time for QamiX and hopefully get some good progress in before the end of the year.
The 2023 IFComp for interactive fiction games is open for judging. Come and play/judge a wonderful mix of games both choice based interactive fiction and traditional parser text adventures. Judges have until the middle of November to rate. You only need judge 5 games total for your votes to count. https://ifcomp.org#ifcomp#ifcomp2023#InteractiveFiction#GameDev#IndieGames#CreativeWriting

Here's a new video from the Spacedock #Youtube channel about the Orion Drive. I love all the #SpaceShip designs they talk about, and I want to find ways of using them in my #SciFi#writing.
It also has a link to the #ScienceFiction#AudioDrama The Sojourn, which I'll start when I have the time.
Does anyone know any good fediverse instances that allow long form posts? I want to post and read short stories, so we'd be looking at 60000ish character limit. The only one that does this isn't really a fiction based instance so I don't feel right to apply.
