Did you know that "eat the " was first a concept?

Limitarianism is fundamentally the study of when it might be to put limitations on citizens in a governed society. It's a case-based theory, not a political system.

It asks questions like: is ever individual? What is the wealth limit?

& questions it isn't positing, like: If no one is ultra-rich, should no one be ? Is limitarianism virtue or justifiable without perfectionist views?

Thoughts?

Next was a great symposium on clinical trial data sharing and reproducibility at the Harvard Medical School Center for Bioethics with Jeffrey Drazen, Harlan Krumholz, and Ameet Sarpatwari. The implications of this discussion go far beyond medicine, applying to many data-intensive disciplines where data collection is labor intensive, ethically fraught, and devalued by the academic community https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThbJJC2kOdc (5/9) #bioethics #ethics #data #science

“The controversy about the decision to fly an American outside the home of Justice recalls St. Paul’s admonition that while some things may be lawful, ‘not all things are helpful.’

“I can offer no opinion as to whether the flag display at the justice’s house was . I won’t even opine whether my flying the flag upside-down at my house would have constituted a violation of the code of that binds me & all — except the justices.

Good. Biden's appointment of Altman to the AI safety and security board is up there with his Garland and Fauci appointments. Bad decisions.

The man has been accused by those who know him in his own inner circle of being "not consistently candid" and if there's anyone who should not be deciding AI risk issues it's someone not candid.

The artificial-womb revolution is coming

“Ectogenesis raises a slew of scientific, medical and technical questions, but frankly these pale in comparison with the social, moral, ethical and political challenges the process poses, particularly if it is used by the state to raise population levels without the participation of mothers in baby birthing or parents in child rearing.”
