Know any really talented full stack software engineers? Have them apply to the Center for Open Science! One of the best perks of the job will be the ability to see all the stupid jokes I make in our Slack. (But seriously, if anyone wants an honest look at what it's like to work here, feel free to reach out!)
Our #Fullstack#GraduateDevelopers will be showing off the portfolio apps they've built over the last 6 weeks and chatting with you about roles they're interested in!
What good sources have people found to find remote Fullstack Engineer roles in UK/Europe? I'm primarily aiming for B-Corp or Tech for Good. Any leads would be greatly appreciated 🙏
McFly readme section about writing REST APIs in the same project... thanks to unjs/nitro 🤗
✅ file-based routing for REST API endpoints
✅ e.g., ./routes/api/users.ts can be accessed via http://<domain>/api/users
✅ TypeScript or JavaScript welcome!
@itnewsbot The #FullStack#developer is a shorthand for "person making work of whole IT department". And I am not giving assessment whether it is good or bad. It is a fact that must be taken into account. E. g. by giving such person a salary comparable with scale of work such developer have to do.
Other thoughts on the RailsWorld keynote, keeping in mind these things can be true and also that DHH has some toxic views:
• I liked the “here is some new Rails stuff and there are talks going deep on it here" - it makes the conference feel valuable (again, setting aside if you agree on the new things)
• I like the underlying ethos of “create tools that allow someone to do more and more of the end-to-end build/ownership of an app”. I am team #FullStack for sure
Just realizing that I never ended up posting this here, and I know it's Saturday but here we go anyway:
I'm actually looking for work!👀
I'm looking for #devrel (with a specialization in #devex, web standards and OS communities) or #fullstack eng roles (primarily #javascript but I dabble in half a dozen other languages, from Rust to Go to embedded C/C++ & happy to learn), have quite a bit of experience/interest in #webassembly, #cloudnative and can hold my own in #devops (e.g. the #RustFest infra used for the EuroRust live stream was hosted by us).
I am based in Tallinn, and looking exclusively for fully #remote (ideally seasoned async/flexible remote teams and I am happy to help building a great culture as well using my previous experience at Mozilla & other companies in the past 7 years).
Also open for part-time and/or contracting with the right people/product.
If you know someone would appreciate an intro, say hello @ https://flak.is
I will soon be starting to develop a new personal site using #MERN. The site will include a blog that I would like to be #ActivityPub friendly - does anyone know of any good tutorials or resources for building an activitypub friendly #cms
The Earth Innovation Institute is hiring a full-stack developer who will work on LandScale. They're partners for Terraso; it's a good project, I recommend checking it out!
The lads are back with an action-packed episode full of juicy details about “buildless” architecture & #Turbo architecture, server components, tools & techniques which encourage server-rendered #HTML pages & fragments sent over the wire, making websites which work without #JavaScript, the pendulum shift we see in the industry back to coupled #FullStack#DX, and so much more.
Grab your notepad because there’s a lot of ground to cover! #WebDev
Anyone #hiring any #dotnet engineers? A friend reached out to break the bad news: lay offs are coming. That companies loss is your gain. I’m recommending at least one fantastic engineer with more potentially on the way.
I'm a software developer with ~7 years of experience. I'm primarily interested in backend with #TypeScript but I've done #FullStack as well and am open to other opportunities willing to help me learn.
I'm based in the eastern timezone and looking for #RemoteWork.
You can find an overview of my work history on my website which is linked in my bio here.
My current employer @joinsteady is looking for mid and senior level #fullstack web developers with #Elixir, fully #remote anywhere in Europe or #hybrid in Berlin. Work on a meaningful product in a small autonomous team with nice and talented people 🙂
Long-time front line software engineer needs to slow it down. Looking to transition to a new role in #softwaredevelopment for #remotework. My background is diverse but, in recent years: consulting, lead instructor, #fullstack web and mobile app development. Part-time, hourly ok! If it's important I am at UTC-4.
When I try to contact #NPMjs to recover access to my account, I get support messages from "npm@githubsupport.com". This makes a lot of sense because the quality of support is exactly as bad as I would expect from a #Microsoft owned organization.
@rml I just listened to this the other day, very exciting! We will soon be able to do #FullStack development using #GuileScheme as the only language for the whole application!
I 100% agree with what @cwebber said about WebAssembly realizing the dream of Java's write-once-run-everywhere ethos. WebAssembly is the JavaVM done properly, with real support from the whole software development community at large.
A bit off topic, but I hope someday someone comes up with a fully #GPL#WebAssembly app platform that replaces #WebKit with something a fraction of it's size which runs on all the major operating systems. That is a tall order, yes, but not as hard as coming up with a whole new #WebBrowser engine. And it could replace both Node.js and the Java JRE.
