I need to get new #glasses 👓 and everyone is telling me to buy them from the online shops— I don’t know why I am so skeptical but maybe because they are under $100 and I am used to paying like $700.
Have you purchased your glasses from them? Do you find the quality sufficient?
Some people consider the breathability of N95s to be a benefit, but considering that it manages to fog-up my glasses (the design was really not made with masks in mind and it shows, I'll get different ones next time) anyway (if to a much lesser degree than masks which don't seal on my face, but the top still breathes as much as the rest of it), I find proper reusable respirators do much better at completely doing away with the fogging-up issue.
So....top of the line Varilux progressives for about $478 (w/ insurance, lenses only) or good ol' Costco frames and prog. lenses (proprietary?) for less than 300.?
That's my current dilemma.
Okay. I was right to be skeptical about Apple’s VR glasses, but I've been pleasantly surprised.
I think that they will change the entire industry. With that high price tag, it will take a while. I expect it to come down significantly every few years, but I think it's going to happen.
I can't wait to start using #Emacs on my screen in front of me in a virtual environment direct from my laptop. 🙃
“often a tendency to focus on the primary user and #design just for them. Because these #technologies are so deeply embedded in social interactions and are used with others and around others, we often forget these ‘onlookers’ and we’re not designing with them in mind”
“involving non-users is especially key in developing more #equitable tech products and creating more #inclusive experiences” https://spectrum.ieee.org/ar-glasses#AR#augmentedreality#power
Trying on my pinkish lipsticks as a screen test🌺
Kinda tempted to record a video in which I'd show off my entire collection😍
It includes a lot of really awesome indie brands that sadly went out of business, destroyed by Sephora😢
You know you’re an old fart when going to the eye doctor is a major event. I ordered two new pairs of glasses. This time the progressives will also be transitions. Oooooh, babie!
Warby Parker's quality is...unimpressive. Is there a better place to get decent frames? These are a year old and that gross bubbling thing in the plastic is already happening at the nose
I even paid extra for the super ultra mega thinnest possible lenses and...they're not really much thinner at all. Oh and my idiot bitch vision insurance didn't reimburse me at all because vision insurance is a scam don't get it
