@gracjan@fishcharlie@christianselig I recently started using #Kbin on first interaction it seems better than #lemmy, certainly has better integration with other Fedi group platforms, like Friendica Forums, Lemmy communities, Gup.pe groups, etc.in addition to their native "Magazines" @realcaseyrollins
@Veritas Ohhh a wordpress like program you can easily install on any php web hosting provider for personal use, I don't know why so many #fediverse software (#mastodon, #pleroma, #misskey, #lemmy) missed the mark and went with ruby elixir and the like, I bet those are the languages devs are familiar with
I am confident many software could be refactored into php code (friendica and hubzilla already exist) and it could really help speed up growth and make some people feel in control of their data.
I'm hosting and running a Lemmy just for myself, and am having no problem with it. Lemmy is great. But I'm looking to branch out, and see what else exists out there.
Despite having worked with the Misskey codebase for almost a year and a half at this point, there's still so much I don't know about it. It's a massive project filled with years of legacy code... it's a weird feeling. Excited to scrap the old backend and start fresh.
Just finished adding three more #ActivityPub accounts to my #KeyOxide. My #PeerTube (diode.zone), my #Lemmy (lemmygrad.ml), and my #Bookwyrm (bookwyrm.social). Looks like it's all working :D
I've got 13 identities set up now. This sort of thing is great exercise for keeping my #gpg knowledge fresh, especially when I'm having to fiddle with everything on an airgapped machine. I also went ahead and updated my master key and subkey expirations while I was at it. By 2025, the keypair will have officially been in use for a decade.
Sure, I primarily use #Mastodon [albeit not the mastodon dot social instance or anything like it], but I still love things like #pixelfed and #lemmy quite a lot.
If you like the more concise and peaceful conversations this side of the web, you should ABSOLUTELY give these other options a look! #fediverse#feditips#fedi23
Can anyone tell me how to follow a #Lemmy instance like Lemmy.ml from within #IceCubesApp ? Can you post/comment from a Mast account without a Lemmy account?
I need to stop giving Reddit any views and clicks.
The @privacyguides subreddit is dipping their toes into the fediverse now that reddit is going to shit. They are now hosting a @LemmyDev instance on https://lemmy.one/ so I decided to join it.
Lemmy is a federated alternative to reddit so it would work similarly in that you can follow other subs even on different websites. (even on mastodon maybe: @privacyguides)
You can comment on posts just using your mastodon account at the very least: https://lemmy.one/c/privacyguides
The instance has restricted creation new subs but they are open to letting other open up if you want to join: https://lemmy.one/post/41
I'm legit sad about the news out of #Reddit surrounding their API pricing. @christianselig has built the only interface for Reddit that a lot of users will ever willingly use. I hope a fedi alternative (I’ve seen posts about #lemmy, need to check it out) can scale up fast enough, the way Mastodon did, to fill that void for folks.
Reddit is undergoing enshittification, so I've set a course straight for the fediverse. I'm moving to Lemmy for most of my reddit-related posting, so nothing changes here, but I wanted to give lemmy a shoutout nonetheless #lemmy#reddit#fediverse

Looking for an entry to the Fediverse that's made for a single user. Preferably Reddit/Lemmy-like.
