When I was in my early 20’s, I hustled my ass off. I worked 2 jobs and a side hustle. I drank 8 cups of coffee a day and popped No Doz pills to work at night.

And then I burned the fuck out. And crashed hard.
And it wasn’t worth it.

There’s a lot of folks who will tell you: “grind to the point of exhaustion. Chase wealth and rest later. Make work your only religion.”

That advice is poison. It will leave you broken and hurt and tired and alone.

The last US president who didn’t bomb something in Iraq was Ronald Reagan. The last US president who didn’t bomb something in Yemen was Bill Clinton.

It doesn’t matter which party Americans vote for; it’s just part of the job now.

> “What did I tell you about slaves”

That you don’t understand how enslaved people are members of the society in which they are enslaved.

> “(seeing how much you talk about slavery, do you still have slavery in the US?)?”

Yes, most people are wage slaves, while millions of people endure legal chattel slavery as punishment for “crimes.”

> “Where have I said that going against societal rules is okay (rape is a crime in my country, and I think it should be in the US as well)?”

You have repeatedly said that people who do not successfully resist coercion with violence are responsible for that coercion. Repeatedly, explicitly, you have said that.

> “The last one is correct. Workers have a choice. That's also why many of them try to build united fronts by forming unions.”

No, workers do not have a choice. You should probably remove some of those hashtags from your profile.

We need more explicit anti-capitalist and pro-socialist messaging on the Left. Structural critiques and our visions for a better world (if we still have one) are largely absent from popular discourse, which is dominated by 'takes' on whatever the lunatic right-wing obsession of the hour happens to be. Meanwhile the elite class is continuing to consolidate power and wealth right in front of our eyes. This does not end well.

I am sick of the talking heads on the news telling me how great "the economy" is because the stock market is soaring and unemployment is low.

Fist, "the economy" is a euphemism for "rich peoples' yacht money".

Second, I don't own any stocks. I don't know anyone who owns stocks.
The top 1% own more than half of all the stocks.

Third, unemployment being low is just a way of saying wages are so low and cost of living is so high that grandpa and grandma had to end their retirement and go back to work to help pay the rent.

I don't care about stocks.

Tell me the average rent is 30% or less than the monthly wages for a single person working for minimum wage.
Tell me grandpa can go back to fishing and and building bird houses because the bills are covered.
Tell me families don't have to choose between the electric bill and groceries.

I love looking out at our free-growing back yard in the morning and seeing it filled with birds, squirrels and bunnies foraging, while our neighbors' well-trimmed lawns sit still, lifeless, and not even pretty (all due respect to the grass).

Working your ass off to kill off nature when you could just sit and enjoy it and do positive good is one of those American things I'll never understand.

And the media massacre continues. Business Insider will be laying off 8% of its staff. In 25 years of keeping tabs on the media landscape, I have never seen such a vile and systematic corporate assault on working journalists such as the moves we have seen in the last three weeks. What this means, of course, is that those who still have their jobs will increasingly be sycophants who pull their punches.

I get it: you're a Trumper. Just embrace the evil. Stop pretending you have the moral high ground when you're simping for fascism.

Communists always do this. Remember how Thalmann and his German Communist Party enabled Hitler? That's you, only in America, with Trump.

I've been told many a time in my life that my views/values are "extreme", or something along those lines. It's an ironic word to use. Actually, extreme is having a series of digits that don't really mean anything - other than the power we have socially constructed them to have - to control whether you eat, drink and have shelter. Extreme is continuing to destroy the planet through extractivism and exploitation so a few rich people can obtain even more money and power. Extreme is furthering the notion the Covid pandemic is over and forgoing any protective measures like masks when in fact we still very much are in a mass disabling event. Extreme is having enough resources on the planet for everyone to have everything but having a system where very few people hoard and monopolise the resources.

Capitalism isn't working for us. It perpetuates inequality by concentrating wealth and power in the hands of a few, leading to social divisions. Profit-driven systems exploit the working class, create economic hierarchies, and prioritize private interests over communal well-being. A stateless, classless society where resources are collectively owned and distributed based on need is the cure to capitalism.
