Which foods have the most plastics? CNN says ninety percent of animal and vegetable protein samples tested in research published in February tested positive for microplastics. Other studies said vegetables can absorb microplastics through their root systems, and salt and sugar can also contain plastic. Here's the full story, including some advice on reducing your exposure. Tell us: Which of these proteins do you think contains the most plastic?

The day before this year's two protestors were given outrageous and extreme prison sentences.

Morgan Trowland was jailed for three years and Marcus Decker for two years and seven months.

The presiding Judge Shane Collery KC said to the pair, you "plainly believed you knew better" than other people and were thinking "to hell with everyone else".

Future times will record them as pioneers. The Judge's comments will be forgotten.

Happy Earth Day!
Suppose each of us, like on New Year’s Day, were to make a personal resolution to do something significant, something beneficial—a change in lifestyle perhaps?—to help this awesome home of ours remain vibrant, nourishing, livable. You in?

There are only a few more hours of left, but the good news is that you have the rest of your life to for your survival.

Failure to do so will significantly shorten that period.

For you can start a compost pile and take the habit of composting the benefits are amazing.

Random tip: don't buy compostable forks and spoons. Go to your thrift store, and purchase a handful of real, metal forks and spoons (usually 50 cents or less for each). Pair those with washable napkins. Use them, wipe them off and wrap them in your napkin, take those all home and wash 'em.

It’s & I’m giving a talk all about the global food system & its impact on the environment.

The agricultural sector is one of the most significant + immediately scalable places to have impact.

Since my talk isn’t public, here’s a great piece from @globalecoguy & the good folks at Project Drawdown. https://drawdown.org/news/insights/how-food-and-farming-will-determine-the-fate-of-planet-earth

progress 🧵

My tree seedlings for the rewilding project in graveyards and city parks aren’t large enough to plant in ground this year but they will be next year. The maypops are ready to plant though so will do that when I hear from the city arborist.

For that project, I am planting
Acer floridum
Asimina triloba
Diospyros virginiana
Passiflora incarnata
Prunus americana

For those of us that study the Earth and its climate, every day is .

There are so many things we can do to make life better for people we’ll never meet and creatures we’ll never see.

Top 5: wind, solar, energy efficiency, stop deforestation, cut CH₄ emissions.

On the Earth Day, we should promote the ecological ways to search. And SVMetaSearch is one of search engines powered by renewable energy.

Another search engine claiming to plant trees is Ecosia - https://ecosia.org.

Being early for

It is good to pick a day to bring more awareness to our planet.

As a habit, you should ask yourself every day what should I do for the planet today.

For a single person, one daily action can lead to many days and actions if we extend it to a lifetime.

What did you do for the planet today?

compost, to climate

We can be angry at #ClimateChange and those who could not care less for it.

Do I want to be remembered as the angry one in the corner who did not act?

If one day my kids ask me what have you done for the planet I want to tell them what I did and prove them that I cared for their planet.

Happy #EarthDay we only borrow this planet from the next generation, they will see us as careless and uncivilized fools if we keep doing nothing.
