June 4th 1989 is a date we should never let the internet forget.

This was a cruel day for thousands of peaceful protesters in China and a horrible day worldwide for everyone who believes in fighting for democracy.

Remember remember,
the Tiananmen Square protesters.

Hong Kong is losing its relevance in finance and business.

"At the height of the Zero-COVID madness in early 2022, tens of thousands of business and finance professionals left Hong Kong for more open cities, particularly Singapore."

"Despite Hong Kong's connections with China, the city's economic growth has lagged that of Singapore, which is now 70 richer than Hong Kong by GDP per capita."

authorities have issued groundless arrest warrants and bounties of HK$1 million (US$128,000) on eight exiled democracy activists and former lawmakers.

This is extending its political intimidation campaign beyond its borders.

The charges would be too ridiculous to mention if they didn’t so clearly demonstrate Beijing’s blinkered authoritarian mindset.

Opening November 20, Hong Kong Disneyland’s new land - World of Frozen - will feature at least 2 new trash can designs: a general-use teal can throughout the land and a cream-colored can for Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs coaster.

Recently, Sarawak Metro had the pleasure of meeting their counterparts in Hong Kong together with senior officers from Sarawakian ministries and agencies.

Sarawak Metro thanked MTR for the opportunity to connect and learn during the visit.

It seemed like they probably discussed about transit-oriented development (TOD), possibly wanting to implement them under the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS).

A Hong Kong government crackdown on neon signs stems from safety and environmental concerns, but the campaign evokes the fading of the city itself. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2023/12/11/asia-pacific/social-issues/hong-kong-neon-signs/?utm_content=bufferc103b&utm_medium=social&utm_source=mastodon&utm_campaign=bffmstdn

Founded in 2006, Hong Kong's Civic Party was made up of attorneys, academics and other professionals who wanted to promote democratization, becoming at one point the city's second-largest opposition party. Now it has cleared its headquarters and shuttered its doors. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2023/12/28/asia-pacific/politics/hong-kong-opposition-party/?utm_content=buffer0e9cb&utm_medium=social&utm_source=mastodon&utm_campaign=bffmstdn
