🇺🇦 Sharing #fediverse data on Ukrainian instances by eQualitie
👉 As of March 2024, 10 Mastodon instances by https://dcomm.net.ua/ are the home for 1569 users (+2,6% from previous 6 months), who published 178 431 toots (+ 71,5% from previous 6 months)
Started to write a blog post about metalhead.club t-shirts and quickly realized that I don't have the energy to find proper words right now 😅.
My plan is to describe what considerations I made and which parts I use for my t-shirt "business". So others feel inspired and might sell instance merch, too! 😁
I think t-shirts are a great advertising space for Fediverse instances. 👌
I really need to write something about why having mega instances on the fediverse is a problem that’s longer than a toot.
Probably a good time for a post on the subject given I now have about the same number of people following me here as I did when I closed my Twitter account.
How do I use this account on lemmy and vice-versa?
Is the upvote of lemmy the same as favorite of mastodon? (they do not sync) if not then what metric are these two uniquely gauged? @technology #instances #Lemmy #Mastodon #Help #ActivityPub
Who can see my posts? I am super curious as to how far this #activitypub can travel? Learning the #fediverse is interesting but a tad confusing for the laypeople like me. If anyone has an analogy do share. Visualizations help. #mastodon#server#instances
So these are the numbers of people who --> could <-- have seen the hashtags you've used, hashtags being the primary way people find posts from people they don't know
OK: this all depends on if they're --> following <-- those hashtags (which I guess being included in this stat would imply) and if they're paying any attention to them
I don't know what this tells you, but that's a pretty good number of people from the times I've looked up hashtag traffic in the past
host)...
So, with genuine curiosity, where's the line between staying on a fediverse that federates with Threads and going back to Xitter?
Sure mastodon/AP is open etc ... but there's a plausible future point where Threads/Meta is so dominant, in a similar way to how mastodon.social is now, that it unquestionable shapes the culture and policies of mainstream mastodon.
@flatchulancelot@maegul you can help make that happen! If you see a Threads user that's breaking your instances rules, you should report it to your moderation.
Also, to prevent hostility within mastodon, people who want to be on #Instances that block Meta/Threads shouldn't be derided. The way Federation works, there is no reason to demand people defederate from instances that choose to allow Threads
To those leaving due to my “heavy handed”, “ethically questionable,” and “morally bankrupt” decision to let people decide whether to interact with Threads: I am sorry it didn’t work out.
To people on instances who will soon block me/us because I did not block Threads, thanks for being there, I wish you all well.
Mike McCue - Hello Fediverse. I'm posting this tonight from my federated Flipboard profile! We're now testing our #ActivityPub integration starting with my account. You can follow me here to see all the stories I'm curating about things like startups, photography and of course, the #Fediverse. Curious to hear your thoughts on...
Can you actually #access PeerTube #content from other #instances? As a Kbin user, I can see both Lemmy threads and Mastodon microblogs and I know Mastodon users can tag Lemmy (and maybe also Kbin) magazines to make threads there. Is there a way to interact with PeerTube like that?
We're the George Lansbury Memorial Trust, set up in 2012 to commemorate the life of George Lansbury; the life-long campaigner for social justice.
George started life as a radical Liberal, became a socialist in the early 1890s & joined the Social Democratic Federation, Independent Labour Party, and then finally a Labour MP in 1922, leading the Party in the early 1930s.
Stuff have dropped X as a platform. Good move. But what's the natural replacement, or should we be looking back to lightweight self-published platform agnostic solutions like RSS? Thinking about this for all businesses or organisations who have a need to publish articles.
Flipboard has begun testing ActivityPub federation of user accounts (flipboard.com)
