Stumbled on the C64 book that came with mine circa 1986. I didn’t understand much of it back then but I remember fondly trying to. It wasn’t easy when nobody around you knew anything to help.
Luckily I had another basic programming book (Bordeaux cover) which had cool examples to type in.
In retrospect I always thought it was a lucky strike to get a used computer for Xmas because it came with lots of diskettes and books.
Macintosh SE paired with an Apple Keyboard (not part of its original shipment). 🖥️🍎 On the "wanted" poster are the Apple devices sought after for inclusion in the museum's collection. 🏛️📜
In 1995, the Colorado town where I was attending high school hosted the first annual Digital Storytelling Festival.
One of the sponsors was "The Net" magazine, long since defunct. As part of the festival, a couple employees of The Net came to our high school and taught us HTML.
A recent bout of nostalgia led me to searching for issues of The Net magazine on eBay, but then I remembered to check the @internetarchive

The Commodore 64 🕹️, a symbol of the 1980s computer revolution 🚀, with 64KB of RAM and a 1.023 MHz processor, transformed home computing 🌍. Its vast library of games 🎮 shaped the gaming industry, and its enduring legacy continues with ongoing enthusiast support 💾.
Currently there's a big wave of #retro (1980s mostly) #aesthetics, #music, #movies & #tech, embraced by Gen Z/A. Some are baffled by that and try to understand why. To me, it's obvious why: that was the golden age of the modern world (1950s is too far removed at this point to be embraced by them).
So what we're seeing is a depressive #nostalgia of a promising & hopeful world that will never be witnessed by the young generations. They know it, and they're trying to get a bite of it.
#nostalgia
