The Melissa Virus This infamous computer virus spreads rapidly via email, causing widespread disruption and billions of dollars in damages. It highlights the growing importance of cybersecurity.
She had barely taken a sip of tea before the knock came at the kitchen door.
Did she recognize that knock? Friend, foe, salesperson?
It was worth taking another long sip before making a decision. Friend, she'd answer and invite them to join her. Salesperson, politico, proselytizer or foe, no.
I've been playing with the #WindowMaker version of #Debian recently, just to remember the old, good #NextSTEP, #OpenSTEP era. I used to have a #NeXTStation but I sold it locally for $300 just before I left US for Greece. It could probably fetch thousands on eBay, but I didn't want to deal with shipping such a heavy item.
Ah, I miss the old #SiliconValley. Back when there was actually room to innovate in ways that were revolutionary, and not just additive.
Originally called “Jerry and David’s Guide to the World Wide Web,” which was created in 1994, as the portal grew popular, it was renamed Yahoo, an acronym for “Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle.”
My #Ghostbusters "Frozen Empire" review? Go see it. Better than "Afterlife" (which I liked). It was a great popcorn flick. Got enough chuckles out of me to have made it worth seeing in theaters. Stop overthinking everything.
"Nearly everything we buy, use and own from the last couple of decades was built cheap and built to be disposed, so we could buy the next cheap thing to dispose so we can buy the next. Since 2004 I've probably been through 5-6 mice? At least three monitors. Four keyboards. And all were replaced not because I necessarily wanted to, but because they broke."
Remember these? Slowly fading into oblivion, but if you pay attention you can still find quite a few scattered across the footpaths of #Wellington.
We just had to stay to the left, when passing others. #BlastFromThePast#COVID19#Pandemic#Nostalgia
#Nostalgia, or the act of longing for something from the past, has always seemed more bitter than sweet to me. In the years following my move from #HongKong to #Canada, reminders of the place I once called home came with a fear that my connection to it was fleeting or, worse, lost forever. I can’t help but continue longing for something I can never get back.
One of the most popular features on the newsletter was when I experimented with the Game Boy Camera, and took photos through colour filters! If you haven't seen it already, check it out!
🫳⌨️ Just 2 keys left to complete the keyboard of our Kopa 1000 (also known as VT100) 😁 Turns out, they really do fall out quite easily, and it's no wonder they're hard to find after more than 40 years. 👴
do you remember when you'd get home from school on a friday and take off the away message on AIM and then go off to reorganize your myspace top 8? them were the days.
it's weird living in a moment when, at that time, i didn't think i'd ever think about those days.
Throwback to childhood days spent with Zak McKracken!
I vividly remember those moments stepping out of Zak's house, him turning back, and casually remarking, "Looks good." It's funny how some game moments stick with you.
Now, on days like today, when the evening wraps up a genuinely good day, I find myself metaphorically looking back at the day's events. And just like Zak, I think to myself: "Looks good." It's a simple phrase, yet it perfectly captures the satisfaction and contentment of a day well spent.
