Does anyone know a good, ethical host for a static, small website? Ideally it should have a free tier, but I don't mind paying a bit (let's say 5€/month).

I want to be able to command-line upload to it (or connect a git repo) and it should be clean and renewable energy, ideally.

EDIT: Oh and please hosted inside the :)

filipesm,

@jon this time when I go from Bergen to Lisbon, I'm gonna cross that border by bus from Sevilla to Faro, because the connection from Barcelona to Lisbon is just so bad through Madrid (takes very long with all the connections in between)

It’s time to wind down the reliance on fossil fuels.

Wind energy is renewable and abundantly available in the EU and its industry creates economic growth and green jobs.

This is why today we proposed a Wind Power Action Plan to maintain wind power a European success story.
It will:

→ speed up permitting procedure for projects on wind energy
→ help the industry access finance
→ ensure a fair international environment for our companies
→ train skilled workers

filipesm,

https://www.irishtimes.com/world/middle-east/2023/10/17/israel-hamas-war-air-strikes-pound-gaza-as-efforts-made-to-break-deadlock-on-aid/

More than 1,000 children have reportedly been killed in 11 days of airstrikes on Gaza – one child every 15 minutes – with children making up a third of total fatalities in Gaza.

This is not war. This is slaughter. This is barbarism. Nothing justifies this.

And yet the West watches—cheers with blood lust, even—as Israel commits genocide.

Yesterday, President von der Leyen participated at the Berlin Process Summit in Tirana and presented our Growth Plan.

It is based on four pillars:

🔸 bringing the Western Balkans into the Single Market.
🔹 completing their Common Regional Market.
🔸 accelerating reforms to have more convergence of the economies
🔹 increasing EU funding for investment.

Only by working together will we bring the Western Balkans right where they belong, at the heart of the European Union.

Queen Thyra, the mother of King Harald Bluetooth, was commemorated on four commemorative runestones in different parts of Denmark – suggesting she was a powerful figure.

filipesm,

@EU_Commission you could create policy to enforce use of public/private key authentication instead of passwords? Also create a state/EU funded browser that is very careful with how domains are shown (there are other reasons to have a public browser)?

Neither would fix the problem, but they would help. Also just education campaigns in schools and universities?

We are breaking through the spam waves.

In the past days, we have identified and fixed several performance bummers, an internal meeting from our core team yesterday evening defined a roadmap to fix the rest.

To give you an idea: We are hit by extreme spam posts. In the past day, we removed 15% (!) of all Codeberg issues as spam, and we're still not done.

The removal degrades the performance, sometimes resulting in error 500s. Please reload the page in that case. Thank you for your patience.

This is the reality of a boiling planet.

We are on track to overshoot our goal to cut our greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030.

will be our opportunity to do so.

filipesm,

@EU_Commission Maybe the first step would be for the president of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to stop announcing she wants . Or try to explain how she thinks growth can happen while not destroying the planet we depend on. Like @jasonhickel has said, it might be possible, but it's like making our lives much harder and risk billions of lives, for the profits of a few tens or hundreds... It's pure madness.
