Sometimes frank simplicity is best. This super popular @PamelaBarroway reply nails it! WTG Pamela!

"Biden is truly the only choice in November if we want our country to remain a #democracy. An easy way to make a difference and help re-elect #Biden — especially if you don’t have free time and / or don’t want to volunteer — is to donate to the #BidenHarris2024 campaign, monthly or as a one-off (I’m a monthly donor). #voteblue"

Via Kyle Griffin:

AG rejects the claim that Biden tried to assassinate him during the Mar-a-Lago raid:

"That allegation is false and it is extremely dangerous. The document that is being referred to in the allegation is a Justice Department standard policy limiting the use of force. As the FBI advises, it is part of a standard operations plan for searches and in fact it was even used in the consensual search of President Biden's home."

FYI - I worked on 2 different #RealityTV shows in #Canada & after those lived work experiences - told everyone I could - don't agree to go on these shows. It's almost all scripted, not reality. Crews are forced to put pressure on voluntary participants - who rarely know WTF they're signing up for & producers exploit naivety. Don't chase easy fame/easy money - they both come at high personal costs. Don't agree to be traumatized on TV, for money. You'll regret it.

Most Americans are rich, arrogant & blissfully ignorant.

People vote even if they're incredibly apathetic, ignorant, misinformed, or stupid.
Recent poll: only 56% of voters said: was to blame overturning R v W. He appointed 3 of the SCJs resp. for it. 30% of voters either blame Biden, or don’t know who to blame.

Voters don't realize how well off they are & the Biden admin is the reason for⬆️GDP.

RELEASE CANDIDATE TIME

Revision 1.1, Dataset 1.1 rev 4, Greater Northshore Bike Connector Map.

This version adds heatmap-sourced non-bike-infrastructure routes that people use anyway as a new class, in Seattle-style green. Think of them as demand paths.

I think they're worth adding because they tell people: yes, people use these fragments of infrastructure; this is how they connect together. This is where people actually go.

Also more dirt trails, a little more road-level infrastructure - minor stuff - and an improved legend.

The attached is at reduced resolution because that's what Mastodon does. But it's okay.

Feedback desired.

This makes total sense given microsofts surveillance strengths. At first I was thinking "but why images then, why not just a key and mouse logger and patch into the core apps like office and browser that probably dominate most of the economic behavior they'd be modeling," but then as with LLMs being used for all text tasks no matter whether natural language is relevant, I had a laugh thinking the tech for image parsing is similarly overdeveloped, and how the contemporary "AI" approach is basically to recapitulate human sensory modalities as the janky ass interfaces to the world that they are rather than directly use symbolic logic or adapt to specific domains.

I think thats sort of cute, in a "human are space orcs" kind of way. Instead of teaching the computers to think, we taught them to see and talk, and whatever happens in the middle there is less relevant.

The venerable Voyager 1 spacecraft is experiencing another glitch. Instead of sending science and engg. data, it is sending a 0101 bit pattern.

The problem has been narrowed down to the flight data system (FDS), which is not communicating properly with the telecom unit (TMU). A reboot did not help.

Stay tuned as NASA engrs work out a fix for this 1970's era computer, which has performed magnificently during its long 46-year journey to the planets and to outer space.

Confirmation today from the Voyager 1 team that the transmission received on Sunday contained science data from 2 of the 4 operating instruments - the plasma wave subsystem and the magnetometer. The other 2 instruments - the cosmic ray subsystem and the low energy charged particle instrument - require recalibration, which will be done in the coming weeks.

The delicate software operation is working as expected.
